Yes, I've been working on these for awhile. The fist ones were copies of the best I could find, and not as good as OEM, I made then as cast molds using catalyzed rubber. Sometimes it didn't flow all the way as the pressure required to make these meant that I wound up throwing out about 1/2 of the ones I made. I cheated the formulation to make it flow better and found that didn't work as well.
The only choice was aluminum tooling. It can take the pressure and allow for using a compound that flows and and looks correct.
Well I finally did it. I actually improved the little skinny part on the back edge of the seal so that it actually fills the little void in the indentation on the inside of the door. This is something the OEM current version does, but it's a little loose.
So below is a picture of the OEM and one of my seals. Guess which one is mine.
I'm posting in larger files so you can zoom in on the details.
This is one of the big projects I've been trying to get off my plate for about 18 months.

Those look perfect. I'm in!

Wow......very cool....I am in for set Mark.
How do you have time to make all these killer parts???
I still have a set of your last batch that I have not even installed yet...
Let me put those on my car and then I can order the replacements.
John
These are awesome Mark! I've been waiting for these to come down in price a little before ordering a set. They'll be on my next round of goodies to order from you for sure. Thanks for all of your hard work.
I'm in for one set
I'll take a set.

+1 SET..
I will maybe soon have doors worthy of putting these in?
Thanks, Mark...
Seriously Awesome! I wish I could be a fraction as good of a vendor as you! I will probably be ordering a bit here in the next couple months to finally, hopefully get my own 914 on the road =)
Heck I need a set of these also !!!
Mark,
As always thanks for making parts like this - the community appreciates it.
I am in for one set in the group buy - cheers!
Hella dope! I'll take two sets.
One set please. . Thanks Mark
Hi will take a set.
Bruce
Mark,
I'm in for one set as well.
Any chance I can combine with some other seals I need? I can get a list together.
If not, no biggie, I still definitely want one set.
thx, Turk
I'll take a pair.
After a good external fit is acheived, my biggest concern is that the glass will sit deep enough that the top cap isn't deformed, causing a leak point.
I m in for a set.
Great work.
Thanks
I'm in for a set
I'm in.
One set please.

Well, after Chris's response I decided to do the install on a car not just a door. With all the parts in it. I did forget how much fun this was last time.
All this working at night I should change my company name to midnight auto supply?????
Actually I did find that the dimensions are spot on. The issue Chris brought up, isn't a problem on mine. The biggest problem is trying to wrangle the seal and bar into place without having it creep up on the bar. Well I found a good way to do it.

It's late and dark and I'm taking pictures with a flashlight in my mouth as the flash on the camera is creating glare and making it look fuzzy, but these are the best pics I can get right now.
I do plan on doing a full write up in a few weeks. These will be ready in about 18 days so sometime before I start shipping. But these do look good installed.

I recently replaced an old tattered one on the 'BB' that had been bugging me for years (passenger side), so I think I'm OK there ... need to check my wife's car next. Will probably order a pair as her car will be getting all new rubber everywhere else during the restoration.
You never cease to amaze us with your new bringings, Mark
I want 6 sets.
Thanks guys looks like 22 sets so far.
I counted 29 sets (not including: cool, nice, do I have to?, next time, and maybe)
add me to the list for one set.
I'm in for one set, probably some other seals as well...but we'll discuss what I need when it's time to order/pay.
I will need 2 sets, let me know when and how to pay.
Jule

Hi Mark
It's Paul (porbmw)....
I've been having problems with my member (don't ask... ) so had to assume a new identity for a while (double don't ask.. ...Woody can probably relate to some of this...)
Anyway, can you sign me up for a set...and I'll PM you re a prior email that I haven't heard back on re some parts stuff, including correct screwdrivers, etc
Thanks
I'll take a set. Thanks
i'm in for one set
I would like a set.
Please put me down for one set and advise as to payment method.
I just purchased your bumper toppers and am both amazed and thankful that you have established a cottage industry to keep these cars alive.
I'm in for a set for 1970 Thanks
Well,
I've been awaiting the materials to ship from the east coast, and wasn't supposed to see them til next week, but I was able to procure enough to get started on these got 10 sets done and more in the morning. I'll be contacting yall in tomorrow to start getting these out the door to you. I also went to a slightly softer rubber to make them even easier to install.
Finally cranking out some parts
PM's sent to all, now off to bed so I can start making these in the morning
one for me please if its not too late.
If these sit around inside in a box for a couple years until I paint my car they'll still be good right? If so I'll take a set.
Production run complete. I'm closing the Group buy out on the 14th. They are on the website if you want them-

Just got mine over the weekend. These are very nice and a great price! I was ready to pay more than twice the price on evil bay. If the rest of you haven't ordered yet, you are gonna miss out on a great deal!
Thanks for the props
These are caught up and many of you will have yours in the mailbox shortly.
Thanks to all that stepped up to help make these possible
Mark
I planned to do a thread on the install for these this weekend but got 12" of snow. Next weekend I'll get one posted. These do require dissassembly of much of the door parts. The aluminum pillar that holds the triangle window has to be moved back at the very least. The seal with the window in it will not fit into the door, and the top cap will not sit correctly unless it's seated all the way down. You can see from my midnight installation that I removed the bar, fitted the seal with the window in it, and attached the cap before reinstalling. The shrink wrap was a very helpfull part of the install.
It is required to move the bar back at the very least, and it was faster to install the way I did. I will get step by step pictures next weekend.

Mark,
Please count me in for one set. Will you send PM when ready?
Matt
