Check the graph and data: this is repeatable, I don't seem to have a lot
of skill on the 'launch', especially without blowing my 33-year old trans.

0-60 in 8.4 seconds.

Mark, I see that you finished making the timing device that you were talking about - well done! Can you make one with accelerometers now so that you can calculate hp and braking distances as well?

Yeah, this is the same box that I made more than
2 years ago. Never got around to making one with
the accelerometers ala g-tech pro, but by the time
I get to it they'll probably be in everybody's watches. biggrin.gif
So I'll never get to use your code.

Just as well ... I'm sure a professional programmer would have a good laugh at my code but at least it produces very accurate results.

what's this about a timing device???
is it a cheap DIY gadget after shopping at Radio Shack?

Having worked in the software biz for 11+ years, I think a LOT of people would be VERY suprised at what passes for "professional" code.

I think there's a reason Microsoft is opposed to opening their source. . .

The box is a microcontroller and RAM chip, some
buttons and an LCD display. It takes the pulses
from the points (I have a little cable coming off my
optical points-replacement module). Takes 20
samples per second for 10 seconds (stupid me I
could have put in enough memory for an hour).

It's kinda expensive to just make one. About
$150 in parts. But then I made the software so
you could view a bunch of different things right
there in the car without having to download first.
It will store 3 different runs before you have to
offload the data.
