I have a stock 914 steering wheel with horn button. Average condition, non-leather wheel...... rubber?

I have two, actually, so considering selling one.

What is the going price???

(Again.... not perfect, but average wear.)

depends on year version, overall condition, and what you consider "average". prob not very much $. post a 'fs' ad with what YOU feel it's worth and see what happens.

.... thank you both. I have a fellow member interested. I just wanted to get an idea of what they were worth. It's an extra wheel for me.... will never use it.

I have sold several items for dirt cheap that I regretted later. Now I double check before letting something go.

I will offer to him cheap if he is interested.

$50? I've never seen one go for that little. More like $150. I often see horn buttons going for $75 and wheels for the same.

Is there something more valuable about the early 70-72 steering wheels?

I read somewhere they may fit an early 911, and have more value???

which years and sizes are the 911 guys after...

I know some of the early ones have been going for big dollars to the early 911 crowd... but have been wondering the details about those sales.

380mm? depends on the part # on the wheel, in some cases the date stamp and the presence of small countersunk holes on the back side of the wheel center.

Well...... buyer may have gotten a great deal.... the deal is made and accepted.

No worries... the wheel would have hung on my garage wall for years.

And yes, I had seen the Ebay prices, which prompted me to check on this site. Seems EVERYTHING associated with these 914s is getting pricey.

From what I've read, all the 914/4 wheels will fit early 911's. You have to switch the horn rings which involves drilling and tapping 2 holes. They do it to go from a 400 or 420mm wheel to the 914's 380mm. It also has a shallower dish.

There are certain part numbers on the early 914/6 wheels that were used on the 914/6 GT. It is a 380mm Leather covered wheel. The same part number wheel was used on the 911 RSR, so the 911 crowd goes bat-shit crazy throwing money at you if you have one. I traded one with the proper part number locally for a complete 914/6 engine, including the flywheel. Abut a grand in value, as the engine was disassembled for rebuild.

All 914 steering wheels will fit on any other 914 or 911. This includes the 914/4 and 914/6, and all 911 up until the 964.

It shows Ed Mayo moving a 914/6 steering wheel to a 914/4. The same column used in a 914/6 is used in a 911, so they all interchange.

Appearance group cars got the leather wrapped wheel in 72. My car has one, but I haven't taken it off the column to double check the part numbers. It should be 914.347.805.11
