I'm replacing my alternator and everything has gone smoothly so far except I'm having trouble installing the new alternator cooling boot. It has the wire inside that I think helps it stay in place. I've had a heck of time trying to install the new one.
Any suggestions or tips to simplify this boot installation?

Nothing except keep trying.
I did mine on the bench and installed it with the boot attached.

It would be a lot easier if the motor was out of the car but that's not an option this time.

Never mind. A little WD40 did the trick! the boot slid right into place easily.
