yeah been ther many times.
if you HAVENT been before.... it may be worth it before it is extinct. if you HAVE been there....its kinda cool but 6 bucks admission and porsche parts are kinda few and far between (but some sweet deals! like my 5 fuchs for 300 )
if you ARE going get theyre well before 7 oclock... kinda dead by 10.... desolate by noon
if you are going... send me a PM and i may go just to hang out
I might be going. Went in November, only to get SOAKED in the rain. December I was sure it would rain, so I didn't go. This time around, if I have some cash, I just might go. The car cover I want is available, and they had a good price for it. I might also take a look at the other stuff, maybe I'll find something for my truck.
Aaron, even if you don't go, let's do lunch!

How 'bout a "fun run" after the Pomona Swap meet.. followed by a BBQ or drinks somewhere? |
Washing the car now, (that is when I saw the star) .
I hope to leave in an Hour or so.
I'm really going just for the drive, but does anyone know if there will be any or many 914 parts (I always feel like the ugly stepchild at all P events)?
What is good in Pomona, resturants, hamburger stands, hotels, ect?

My wife and I drove the 914 to Pomona for the Swap Meet. It was a nice ride, we went I - 10 west to AZ - 95 north to CA - 62 west, then back on the I - 10 on to Pomona.
That CA - 62 is one lonely bit of road for sure.
There were about 4 or 5 914s, one chalon kit, a v-8 and a couple of others.
There was also a number of 356s and quite a few 911s.
The 914 parts at the swap meet were few and far between.
Arron, we ate at Johnny's, it was pretty good.
A huge swap meet for sure, and hundreds of cars for sale of mostly american types.
sorry i couldnt make it...where is johnny's located? did you meet up with joe and lou?
No ,we did not meet anyone from the 914club.
Johnny's in on Garvey, 1/2 mile north of the I - 10.
Sorry, I couldn't make it, threw my back out a couple of days ago, so I wasn't really up to doing any walking.
I made it out there today. Didn't see this post until now though.
I only saw about 5 914s. I spent some time talking with the owner of the V-8 car. The previous owner had converted the car, and it was a Renegade Hybrids car from years ago before they moved to Las Vegas. Couldn't find the owners of any of the other 14s.
I did overhear a guy telling his son about how difficult it is to work on these 914s. Too bad, there goes the possibility of a future enthusiast! I thought at first they would be a pain, but once I dug into them, they're suprisingly simple!
