That's an invisible sphinctometer for the flux capacitor.

How about a pic? That might help!

I like Russ K's answer, but I don't think that's it.
But I do know I cut it off my car.

Looks kinda like the strap that goes behind the trunk hinge ass'y, but the small hole doesn't look quite right for that. I can't think of anything related to wiring (Bowlsby clue) that looks like that. I guess none of the cars I've stripped had one.

I saw a flux capacitor fall off a car on TV once. The car then drove itself off a bridge.

Posted by: ChrisReale May 29 2003, 08:42 PM

I think the Millenium Falcon had a flux capacator malfunction icon14.gif icon14.gif

Posted by: Aaron Cox May 29 2003, 08:43 PM

woohoo, i aint so stewpid after awll.

i pulled that out of my ass, i didn't even know they had one. haha

Posted by: Bleyseng May 29 2003, 09:25 PM

That's it!!!! We have a winner, Sean. I knew Jeff Bowlsby would know what it was. It is off my 76 car as I exploded the orginal oem front spoiler on it years ago. I had saved the brackets.
Sean already has a sticker so that's no good for a prize, so how about a attaboy!

The gear bags also are getting ready to be ordered so maybe those will be a prize in the near future.
Geoff

Posted by: seanery May 29 2003, 09:27 PM

damn dude, i forgot to make the change on the logo. shit!

i'll do that first thing in the am, send me a PM and I'll send you the file in the am.

My brother and I were just talking about a certain cheese shop (with no cheese) on Monday.

Oh, back on topic - no wonder most of us would never get that one, the aftermarket airdams don't have the bracket.

Posted by: Bleyseng May 30 2003, 05:08 PM

I thought Rusty would get it cuz he has a LE, I never thought Sean would guess it right! Too bad the techwizkid don't stop by too often (DD), I was wondering if he knew.
Geoff

Posted by: seanery May 30 2003, 05:16 PM

you didn't think i'd get it right?
I didn't either, BUT....I'm a logical person...and here was my logic...

Since Geoff DQ'd Bowlsby the answer had to be either electrical or LE related.
The part didn't really look electrical and it had some road grime. So I thought to myself,

"Sean, what would have been different on an LE than a standard car?"
"HMMM" I said, "It probably has something to do with the factory front LE spoiler/valence"

and there you have it...my logic....

now, WHAT DO I WIN?

Posted by: Bleyseng May 30 2003, 05:24 PM

Dude, you won the bragging rights! Ok, that's not good enough so how about some Coffee! I'll send you some Surinamese coffee beans, that good enough?
That was good thinking on your part, and that was the clue, the dq'ing of Jeff Bowlsby.

Am the only one who has destroyed both a oem and aftermarket front Spoiler?
Jeez, not a great honor either.

Geoff

Posted by: seanery May 30 2003, 05:26 PM

oh, i thought maybe I won a LE spoiler/valence thingy....

"I've allready got one, it's very nice"

Posted by: ChrisReale May 30 2003, 05:29 PM

I think it is a valve train issue. Geoff and brad are talking about a stronger valve spring that can handle more, thus giving a feww 100 rpm's more of useable "power" Sumthin like that...

Posted by: seanery May 30 2003, 05:42 PM

he's responding to my question about torque falling off after 4500 rpm

Posted by: Bleyseng May 30 2003, 05:45 PM

ahh, yep the valves and cam. But look at the 100+ ftlbs of torque from 2000 to 4500 rpms! Thats the nice part about these motors.
