Milt did a great job prepping that car. Detail are amazing. Mike, whats the motor specs again?

Posted by: J P Stein Jan 15 2005, 07:08 PM

It looks.......... slow IPB Image

Posted by: ! Jan 15 2005, 07:11 PM

I picked up a genuine 2.0 "S" motor from Glenn Sager...he took it in trade for a 2.7 upgrade and I bought it from him at the Dunkel's meet....I actually bought two motors from him....the other one (2.2) went into Frankenstealth.

The "S" motor is rated at 180hp from the factory.....paperwork shows it's had a few massages and it's pretty fresh from a recent top end. With the rains, the house remodel it's been kinda of slow finishing and getting to the track.....

Lookin' real nice Z. I'm bummed I can't get out to Willow on Wednesday as the conditions should be awesome. Weather.com is saying 68 deg; and 42% humidity I'll be stuck down in OC at a conference. It woulda been a blast if we could get the two sixers out there.

NO MEMBER NUDITY

Sure, naked club members sound innocent enough.... until it's SLITS wanting to be Miss April on the 2006 calender.

We must resist the urge to see each other naked, at whatever cost. I know it's hard, this is the internet, and we're all snoopy mfers.

Mike,

you've done a really, really nice job on the motor conversion...
what a great looking car.

I have to admit, I sort of copied your dash to some extend. Mine is moved back about 6inches, but the gauge pod on the flat face gave me inspiration for my dash...

good job!

Manfred is up for sale.....check the classifieds......

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act=ST&f=20&t=24040

Posted by: skline Jan 22 2005, 07:56 PM

Hey Mike, what do you have that is not for sale? Why are you selling Manfred now? I thought you wanted a race car.

Posted by: ! Jan 22 2005, 07:58 PM

Cash and space are a valued commodity.....I have six cars with space for four....insurance is buggering me and I'm tired of the expense of insuring vehicles that sit.....the house remodel killed me and I need to pay off some loans....

Posted by: skline Jan 22 2005, 08:01 PM

I see, one of those, "Something has to give" type of things. Been there and done that.

Posted by: Elliot Cannon Jan 22 2005, 08:05 PM

Hi Mike,
Do you have a title? Can it be made street legal? Would it be worth it?
Cheers, Elliot

Posted by: skline Jan 22 2005, 08:09 PM

Anything can be made street legal. As for worth it? Thats a good question. I dont think it would be that hard to make that car street legal. Add horns, headlights and blinkers and stuff like that. The DMV doesnt usually check all that stuff anyway.

   Cheers,   Elliot

No horn, headlights or turn signals.....it's registered and has a tiltle, currently insured and I have driven it on the street....easy fix if you want to hang a set of driving lights on the hood or in the f/g front bumper.....no one uses signals in CA.... IPB Image

Favorite bumper sticker....no horn, watch for finger.... IPB Image

Posted by: ArtechnikA Jan 23 2005, 11:24 AM

didn't see it mentioned in this thread -- izzat a factory /6 or a conversion ?

looks nicely done; i've got more than that in the 911 now but i couldn't get it out as easily. looks to be a great car for the price.

actually, i'm lusting after the truck but it's a bit outside my budget - especially with a Subie out of service...

Posted by: ! Jan 23 2005, 11:31 AM

Nope, a conversion.....Registered as a 1970 ....the car was a project from another member, then it tossed the cookies at Willow Springs....THAT engine ws rebuilt and is Andy's.....I did the conversion....this is my fifth.

VIN# 4702911799......so eligible for vintage racing as a six in most areas due to it being a 70....

which really makes no sense, 'cause i bet if you asked if you could bring out your 1970 917 they'd be offering you preferred parking and cuts in line at the buffet ...

Oh yeah there is the Exhibiton class, 69 later factory race cars, My old boss runs a 512S Ferrari

Posted by: Steve Feb 23 2005, 09:45 AM

Mike,

I'm drueling over your lift in the garage. drooley.gif
Who makes it and where did you get it??

I wonder if my 911 would fit underneath it?
Of course that's all I need is my 914 leaking on my 911.

Posted by: ! Feb 23 2005, 09:56 AM

It's a Direct Lift. I bought it at the Ventura AutoFest...they had a booth...something like $1880.00 installed...
