914World.com _ 914World Garage _ What antenna do you have?

Posted by: PanelBilly May 28 2014, 11:11 PM

I was thinking I wouldn't worry about installing a radio in the car for now. I even put a block off plate in the dash. The problem is that I have an antenna hole in my front fender. So what are you using and where did you find it?

I'm running a power Hirschmann I bought from ebay.

I plugged the hole with a rubber firewall grommet I got from NAPA.

Where did you get the dash block off plate?

Rennmetal has plates I have one in my car. Fits very nice and holds my head temp and oil press guage.

I welded the hole, and use SiriusXM.

I plugged the hole with a rubber grommet also.

I've used "hidden" antennas in the past - with good success.

Grommet keeps my options open though.

Got the solid radio plate from AA. It's a metal part stamped to size covered I. The right vinyl. They gave me a choice of early/late vinyl. They do some things right.
