This was done by a gentlemen in Finland and posted here a couple of months ago. I find myself in a bit of a pickle as I read here that many guys had used the 944 Fuchs front the front (7" because 8" were on the back of 944's)) and had them on standard 914 (5 lugs of course) with no rub issues. So I bought them, restored them and mounted some pilot's (205/55/ZR16)'s to be exact. Ok, dumb me...I admit. Well, on the rear, I'm about 1" off and no-where to go and this solution looks awesome. Was wondering if there was any mods to the axles as well (I'm running turbo axles and CV's) as this is a renegade. ANYONE done this here in the states? Anyone capable or would want to take this on? Welding for me is marginal at best and to keep it aligned right has me worried. Thinking a machine shop (a professional) would be the best.

Won't you also need shorter axles? You might be money ahead by selling the restored Fuchs and picking up a set with the right offset instead.
Get in touch with Rich Johnson (a914guy@aol.com). He did this on his car years ago. The man that did the work is no longer able to do it, but he might be able to help you out with getting it done.
6inch Fuchs (or cookies) fit stock cars. 7x15 fit pulled fenders.
You might be able to use your wheels with 185 tires.
It's somewhat irresponsible for people to blanket clIm that 7's fit as I often see posted
7's can sometimes work with pulling but not always and I believe pulling is involved

Sell your 7's and buy some 6's. You can likely keep your tires that way

I did these, used bus IRS axles,,,way to much work
the ones you show , I doubt you can use handbrake calipers..

Unclear what would be acceptable to you, but also 7"x16 boxster wheels have
an offset of 40 and will allow wider tires in rear. You may even need a 5mm spacer.
Mark, great info and I'm just stuck on those Classic Fuchs. Rich Johnson is really helping me out as he has done this sucessfully. Turns out that my 930 axles actually have an additional spacer (Currently) that could match very nice what we would want to take off the swing arm thus eliminating that extra spacer. Could be a real win/win but more info is required to make that call. We shall see.

So are you saying you bought 7" fronts & the 8" rears? No way in hell you are fitting 16x8" fuchs on the back on a narrow body car. 7's will work on all 4 corners but typically require pulling the rears. All depends on your car & what size tire you run. I ran 7x16 fuchs all around with just the lips rolled. Had 215/45/16 tires.
If you have 4 7x16" Fuchs you shouldn't need an inch in back. That only makes sense if you have the 8's. In which case I will gladly send you some 7's for your 8's
Just some other ideas (selling your reconditioned 7x16):
1) and get a pair of 7x15 911R rims (not cheap, but oh well). 7mm or 10mm spacer and you're done.
2) Have 3-piece 16" fuchs made in desired width and offset (several places build
these).
6inch fuchs are actually the classics...

911 16x7 same offset
911 15x7 same offset
901 15x7 911R wheel different offset, much like later modern 7's
Its a V-8 car , get out the 1x2 and roll em out a bit...sheesh
I ran 951 16x8's with a heavy fender roll and have since returned to stock with not much bodywork...

I run 225 tires on 7's on one car....
225 on 7's on the second car with a 1 inch spacer
(8 inch fuchs fit easily if I pull the spacer)
both are the cost of a paint job.
its a red line in the planning.... a real decision point
cgnj 205/55/ZR16's are what I have.

Yeah, it does seem like a lot of work for a minimum amount of tire but I'm doing my homework to see all of my options. Trying to stay away from pulling the fenders. I like the classic Fuchs.

So, for the record, on my car (3.5" Bolt to Bolt, 911 brake Calipers Up front) 5 lug of course, these 7" fuchs fit very well with room to spare. For those who want to know, the first three of the serial number on these rims are 951. I have 205/55/ZR16 Pilots on them.
Here's some pics of the rims/tires on the front and some of the rears which of course is the problem at this point. The rears will be in shape in a couple of months. I'm on the list.

Okay, you can do what you want and I won't fault you for that. To me,
it seems excessive _unless_ the only look you want is the 7x16 (more
lip showing than 6x16).
I went with 3-piece fuchs since a set of centers became available and I
need the performance of wider rims with the hoosier autocross rubber.
Keep in mind that the cars are not precise with the location of everything,
left side and right side. When you start pushing the limits of the fender
well, be prepared to have an assortment of 1/3/5mm spacers and longer
wheel studs. If you are not doing high-g cornering, you can unbolt the
shock and simply move the arm up and down to see where you are at.
To get your 7x16 in there, everything seems like bad ideas other than
the trailing arm mod. Skinny tires would be weird. Using lots of camber
might get the tires past the fenders but there is a limit due to the shims.
Super-stiff springs is ghetto and will destroy your handling and frame.
