I removed the original carpet and foot rest from the passenger side and found the pictured connector.
What is it for?
Also, the foam footrest has a square cut out with a small wooden cover.
thanks for your input!

It is for the EGR mileage counter 75 & 76 cars had an stuck down there.
Jim
What year?
IIRC later models had an EGR switch mounted there.
It's a 2.0 '75.
Any suggestions what to do with the switch?
I'm changing to individual TB and megasquitrt anyway.
Danke Andy!
You just answered my question while I typed it.
Can you read minds?
Don't remove it. I use one of those wires in my 75 for for an O2 sensor (occasionally). IIRC one of the other wires is used for an oil pressure gauge in my dash. It's nice to have spare wires!
Those wires run all the way to your rear trunk just to the left of the truck lock. The original relay may still be mounted too-not that it would be useful.
Thanks for all the inputs!
BTW, any magic trick to clean 40 year old carpet spray adhesive?
