They are filming the Miles Davis movie in downtown Cincinnati, with Don Cheadle playing Miles. They had a short blurb in the local paper about needed some period correct cars for the movie (based in the 70's), and I sent in a picture offering mine.
They just sent an email asking if I can bring it down for shooting on Wednesday. Trying to work it out now... but hope to be able to do it...
Cool.
(Birth of the) Cool!
I'm a huge Miles Davis fan, and after reading about this a month or two ago, I was really excited that someone if finally telling the story.
Nice! That would be kick ass to see your car in a movie
That is very cool…I'll look out for that!
grow out your sideburns and and put some big sunglasses on....look the part....you may be in the movie to and get extra money for that too.
That's kind of coincidental, I just saw the movie 'Rwanda Hotel' the other day - starring Don Cheadle.
Cool, let us know how it goes (and how much $ they offer you)
Are you saying Rwanda resembles Cincinnati?
Parts of Vine Street does...
Kewl.
Steve, if your car makes it to the silver screen.....it will achieve celebrity status. Think valuation increase by 50%

Good luck!
That would be great.
This would be a great story ...
...
that would be seriously cool - just to see your car (and honestly, any 914 in general) in a new, modern film (HD, blu-ray eventually).
right now i'm thinking about some weird-as-hell horror/soft-porn thing i saw once about some witches that kidnapped some pretty lady, and her boyfriend who was chunky and had a bad mustache tried to rescue her. the boyfriend drove a 914.
the miles davis movie will probably be better. but anyway.
I caught a glimpse if my 1960 VW bug in a scene in "Red Line 7000" at Riverside Raceway in 1965. The movie had a Cobra Daytona Coupe and a Mustang GT350 featured in an otherwise dreadful movie.

Keep the paperwork for the renting, and get audio of Cheadle farting in the car. Put it in climate controlled storage until he croaks.........CHA-CHING $$$$$$$
So I was down there all day, from noon till 10pm. On several different locations. There were about 6 of us with different cars down there, some had been there on multiple days.
My car should be in the pawn shop scene if it doesn't end up on the cutting room floor. Miles car was a Green Jaguar and was the only car moving during filming...
Honestly I have to say I wouldn't do it again, too much standing around doing nothing... a lot of the crew loved the car, and wanted it more scenes, but some of the scenes were 'ghetto' scenes with old caddy's and a Plymouth Fury III.
Good meal at the Christian Moerlien Brewery around 7pm...$50 dollar bump for the car, and $8/hr is the going rate. Don Cheadle and Ewen McGregor were the main guys in the movie.
Pretty interesting watching the process of setting up the shots, and the retakes. I got lucky, in that we were let go at 10pm, the last few days of shooting the cars were there from 8pm to 8am, or 2pm to 2am, so I'm glad I didn't have hang around like that.
Movie is set in NY, 1979, I had fake NY plates on my car, forgot them and drove home with them on.... they want them back....
So, it's safe to say you drove it for Miles today?
Steve, out-friggen-standing
I hope your car gets its "cameo" in the movie, and thanks for posting the pics.
Paul
So the Movie is finally being released, I have not seen it yet, and don't know if my car is any of the scenes, but I hope to see it in there.
