Orlando

Posted by: ThePaintedMan Aug 4 2014, 09:17 AM

Posted by: rhodyguy Aug 4 2014, 09:28 AM

sun country, i've never heard of it dry.gif , quotes at $220 rt, which is suspiciously low. i wonder if i would have to fly to newark first. rolleyes.gif are you planning on the full weekend festivities george? it would be wonderful to meet you and your wife.

Another airport is Sanford...I think Allegiant airlines flys in their and it only about 30 mins from their to Daytona.

yahh!!

Posted by: ThePaintedMan Aug 4 2014, 03:52 PM

Kev,
I'm shooting for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You're more than welcome to come with us and we could pick you up from either the Tampa or Orlando airport. Never heard of Sun Country either, but Tampa does have a lot of cheap flights in and out. Shoot me a PM or call me sometime and we can figure it out.

Is there room for my trailer? Maybe I'll just drive my truck. Would like attend, don't think I can drive my kidney killer on the street for that long.

A straight shot from Joe's shop. About 16 miles east of Deland

Posted by: rhodyguy Aug 5 2014, 05:58 PM

Even better.

Posted by: deputydog95 Aug 6 2014, 06:24 AM

I race with HSR so I'll likely be running the Angry Leprechaun at that
event. However, I hope to have a street 914 by then.

That is of course if there's actually an original 2 liter car for sale out there that
doesn't have rust or stories... headbang.gif

Trailers are no problem and the DAB airport is closest at about 16 miles.

Why tow the cars if it's not too far to drive?

Over four hours in my car would be tough. Not street legal either. I think my daily driver will have to do this time.

Posted by: chads74 Aug 21 2014, 06:47 AM

I'll be there and hopefully I can drag the wife along for a day or two.

Posted by: Series9 Aug 26 2014, 09:18 AM

Just a little bump to keep us near the front.

I have some VW/356 friends camping out for this. I'll share this with them so they can join. I think I can make this. I'm in Jacksonville and it's only just over an hour away, but is there a designated hotel for the ramble? Or is everybody tenting and just not showering for 4 days? biggrin.gif

Posted by: Series9 Aug 28 2014, 07:45 AM

Clarion and Comfort Inn are both less than a mile.

Ask for the "skydiver discount".

Posted by: Series9 Aug 28 2014, 07:46 AM

And,

I have a shower at the shop for campers.

Verena and I will come if Shoe will buy my wife a bowl of soup. biggrin.gif

I towed my IMSA car there last year, this year I think it will just collect dust.

Bad news...Good News...We will not be able to make it for the bulk of the event this year. Maybe can drop by Thursday late day / evening. Our oldest daughter who is a Sr. in High School has been invited by the University of Florida Head Gymnastics coach to come to Gaineville for her "Official NCAA Recruiting Visit". Amanda has dreamed of becoming a NCAA Division I gymnast for the last 10 years and it looks like her dream is now coming true as she will be joining the UF Women's gymnastics team next year! We will all be heading up to Gaineville with her for the visit on Friday Nov 14th and it continues through mid day on Sunday. Sure will miss all the fun with everyone at the Ramble III. Have a great event driving.gif aktion035.gif driving-girl.gif

Congratulations to your daughter if the University of Florida is recruiting her she must be quite the athlete. Division 1 athletics was the best time I ever had in college!!

Best of luck on your recruiting visit!!!
