Posted by: dax1969 Aug 17 2014, 12:22 PM

Hi,

Is there a difference in rear shocks for the USA type and the European type ?

If I check the KYB website Europe I find artnr kyb 551004 "gas a just" (monotube - no springs) and on the USA website I find artnr kyb K69003 ...
(fyi I have a 73 2.0 which has the k69003 type)

get boge's/sachs from pmb - kyb's are a waste of money even if they're free.

The Koni's on my '74 are shaped like the KYB's in the larger pic you are showing. They mount the coil springs as the ones shown will do.
As for using KYB products, I used them on several cars when I was younger and was more budget-driven and they worked fine. For street use. I wouldn't plan on any competition or track days as they don't work or hold up as well as the European products. This is purely anecdotal, so take it for what it's worth.
