I Have a set of steelies that are chromed ,the chrome is badly pitted so i want to strip the chrome of and spray them,what's the best way to get the chrome of

I think you are out of luck. Take it to a chrome shop

There's not really a good way. Chrome is very hard and doesn't sand well. Steelies are cheap, get a different set. Or you could take them to a media blaster. They probably can't get all the chrome off, but could make it rough enough for paint.

Oddly enough...... take them to a chrome shop.

If you cannot find a "Chrome" shop, just look for some outfit that does plating like zinc plating. They may have a bath to strip it.

To remove the chrome, the electroplaters reverse the plating process and remove the plating electrolytically.

To re chrome, the items are re polished before re chroming
