I picked up a couple transmissions to gather parts for a new tranny for the PorSTI. Both boxes were ex amateur racing boxes with a somewhat bizarre mix of ratios. One of them seems to be somewhat unique.
From what I can find from some initial research the R 4th was put in a few different transmissions with a Nurburgring ratio option. What I need to figure out is if this is some uber rare original gear or an after-market reproduction.
I would like to get some idea of a fair sale price for it so that I can offset some of the trans rebuild costs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Scott

The stamping aren't a good way to identify
That is an original gear. The tip-off is the date stamp, 2.68. These are very rare gears. I have not priced these in several years, but they were going for in excess of $700.
To my knowledge factory gears do not have holes drilled into them. The only company that I know that did that was Power House in Az years back. I would consider that an after market gear.
