Hello, I am selling my 1972 914 1.7 and I need an idea of where you think I should start pricing it. Maybe somebody may be interested online, as I have posted in the multiple forums, and locally. It has no issues of which I am aware. it has absolutely no dings, scratches, or dents. No hell hole issues, and no rust. It had a re-spray in its original color early this year. Seats and carpeting are excellent and original. It starts up immediately and runs great and stops great. 61,000 miles with some documentation. Pretty much all original and shows beautifully. Many pictures upon request. Here are a few pictures. What do you think?
Thanks, Steven

If you review eBay listings current market prices can be obtained. I would estimate that a serious buyer that has been looking for the right car would consider paying between $15K and $20K; if, the buyer won't have to do any work on the car to make it just right. Recently, I did a PPI or a member where the car was advertised as perfect and the seller wanted top dollar. The pictures looked fine. When I got up close it became obvious a repaint would be needed.
the backgrounds in the images look familiar ???
If it's truly as represented, I agree with Jim h.
I just sold a 74 2.0 to a guy in London . 12500.00
I was asking 14500.00 and should have stuck to my guns .
It was very close in quality .
It was /is worth every penny of 14500.00
The value of a true unmolested car is strong .
Your car is in the 12000/15000
Area
Pix later today
of the car I sold..
I agree with the 15 to 20 K, if you are not in a big hurry and your car is as good as it looks....... Let us know how you make out and good luck to you.

If nothing else these pictures need to be classic stored. I can use these to measure perfect door gap, trunk alignment, chrome trim placement, and original dash radio knobs! Great photography. Hope you sell big. P.s. Clean off the overspray on the Karman badge.
The car u see is a 73 2.0
My buddy is posting pix

I did not look at the pictures but if you want to see any classic car for high dollar, you need to get all the well known rust areas out of the way.
By that I mean show each are, in detail, well lit, and with no hi fading of anything.
Remove the rockers, pics of all the metal underneath those rockers.
Pics of the hell hole which is the area the battery sits.
Remove the battery, remove the ECu if equipped, take clear quality pics of that area, it's a very common area for rust.
All the floor pans, in detail from above and below.
If you do that, along with standard pics of the car, it will sell a lot faster, and you won't be in constant conversations with tire kickers.
By showing it all up front, you eliminate all the trolls...
There is nothing to hide, no further pictures needed...it's a simple and quick discussion about price versus loads of questions.
I have sold a few old Porsches and 50 to 100 pics is not abnormal and it makes the process super easy for everyone to value the car.
