Has anybody tried to use one of those H F 20 lb sand blasting units to clean up there Hell Hole and inside Floor? Or is it like throwing sand at it from your hand?

all depends on what size compressor you are using to drive it. blasting takes a lot of air, but it does clean up rust nicely.

I have one and like it. You'll need a good compressor to drive the unit.

Only PITA is that the sand runs out pretty quickly. And it is a messy process, unlike a bead blaster in a big closed work area.

yes! I did my car, you will have sand everywhere. Strip, scrape, and sand as much as you can get off before blasting. It is rough with a small to medium compresor.
I used a fine blasting sand from ACE. It was 4bucks for a 50lb bag.

don't ever drive your car with the air-cleaner off...the sand will come out of the cracks and seams for years on down the road.....BTDT...it's a PITA and next time I'll pay someone to blast it.........

That reminds me Mike...I need to get your blaster back to you. I am putting things back together and don't need it anymore.

Sand removes metal.....glass bead removes the rust only (which on a teener is all the metal IPB Image )
