Ahem! Admin?? |
do you guys want to do a banquet style lunch where we can choose between 4 or 5 entrees, get salad, bread & drink included for a set price, or everyone orders whatever they want? If we're picking the latter, I call NOT IT for sorting out the bill. I think a no host bar would be best, where everyone gets their own beers. Otherwise, it's really hard to figure out the tab.

Thanks Jen. I see two options: 1) buffet, and 2) will they do individual checks?
waiters HATE individual checks. We can request it, and probably get loogies in all our lunches.
Although, this particular crowd has always been pretty good. We don't seem to come up short when we do IHOP. However, whenever beer comes into play...
maybe we can 2 or 3 checks divided by tables. If the checks are broken down into smaller groups, we can probably have the beers on the same tab. And this way, everyone can order what they want.
Jen
Okay, everything's gotta be on one tab, regardless. And I'm told if our party is over 25 people, we must use a banquet menu. We've got 18 confirmed right now. I say we fly with that. This way, we can order whatever the hell our hearts desire on the menu. But pay for your booze separetely at the bar. Executive decision

Add my name to the list.
11:30? Thats more like breakfast, no?
I'll try to make it, got about a 80% chance, need to move a few things around to make time..
Yay!
Kylie is probably coming too so that will be 2 of us...
I don't care how we do the menu as long as this is me --->
They don't, perchance, have a six pound burger? I wanna be like Kate Stelnick.

Hey Jenny, Thanks for stepping up to the plate on this and making it happen. I knew there were others with leadership potential. I hope you will consider coordinating the 9:14 breakfasts regularly or if not that someone else will take responsibility so there is no lapse. It was a lot of fun when I did it and I always have and will continue to look forward to them. I am not out to pasture...expect to see me often...
I REALLY wish I could be there Saturday to see everyone AND THEIR CARS, but I have a conflicting previous commitment this month (the dentist-Ugh!), so I will have to be content with the photos.

Joan & I will be there.
Jenny,
I'll be there with Aylexi and Bonnie.
Alright. We just got bumped up to 27 people, which is over the limit of the non-banquet style lunch. Please, some people trickle in fashionably late so I can say I was only expecting under 25.
See everyone there tomorrow! They open at 11:30, so if you're there earlier, meet in the parking lot.
Peace out!

Damn, I didn't know I was being photographed. I would have pulled out the patented Blue Steel pose if I had known. Oh well. The green car was a 912 not a 911.
Yep, still a tail-dragger, but we love them all the same!
Thanks for the pics Jeff; nice turnout and weather to match (for a change) too!! I really prefer the 11:30 vice 9:14 schedule. Thanks to Jen too for pulling it all together!
Awesome turnout! Much better than I'd anticipated, and we didn't get any grief from tied house. They may get business from us a lot more in the future! Thanks to everyone for making it out!
Jen
PS. the pancakes were delicious!
Thanks again Jen for making the arrangements! I had a ton of fun!

Dammit Felix! I wanted to meet you and never realized you were sitting 2 seats down! Next time!
What I want to know is ...was Nathan there and was his car clean???
hell--i'm just lucky that my car is still in my posession!!!
Felix, assuming that stanford DPS doesn't impound my car on a whim, tell bonnie that i'd be happy to give her a ride in my 914!
Thanks Jen,
for putting this together. It was good to see everyone again. You know I have always liked the Tied House for its decent space and large parking lot.. easy access from 85/101/237
Back to my cage.

Sorry I didn't make it - we had some prior commitments that made it impossible. I hope to make the next one though.
Thanks guys. I'm so glad so many of us made it out for this event. My only regret is I didn't get to talk to everyone. I barely said a word to Andy and Otmar at all. Not to mention Carl and Mer. I'm trying to devise a better plan for these breakfast/lunches. You're pretty much limited to the 5-6 people you sit around to talk to, unless you're like Scott Yeaman and meander about the table with beer in hand. Maybe with some planning, we can do a BBQ at a park or something. That being said, I had a blast sitting across from the Pickerings. I'm totally stoked they came out to play!

I think Trekkor and I could work out a North Bay BBQ. Of course I have my doubts that those same 30 people would drive all the way up here.

Hey Mark,
What about having it be part of your open house?
Sounds good. Seems to be some interest, so I'll start planning. I guess I should talk to Tekkor too.
