I have always wanted one of these but when I contacted Mainely by design he had no more and was not sure if he was going to even make any more. I have gotten enough interest that he is willing to make another run of 50. Originally he told me that I needed to get 24 members to commit. Well I now have 33 members who have expressed interest.
The current price is 49.95 and after the group buy the price will be going up.
Bob is about 3 weeks before all of his subcomponents will arrive and he can start building the parts for us. Please hold tight once he is ready to ship I will post payment instructions.

I've had one for about 5 years now and it works great, you'll love em
Thanks again for organizing this! This is such a great community. Makes it even more fun being a 914 owner.
Sorry if I missed it in the other thread, but let me know how to send payment and where.

These are really useful and mine is accurate, as well. I loaned mine to Phil W during Okteenerfest to verify that his oil temp gauge was accurate. Everyone should own one.
Good point! change made in the original title
if it isn't too late, I'll take one.
-bob
Please put me down for one as well.

Add me to the list.
Please may I be added to the list
do they make one for a 914-6?
Please add me to the list for one (1). Thanks.
Good afternoon everyone,
The next build is for 50 units and we already have more members than units. I will inquire with Bob to see if he is interested in increasing the size of the initial run or doing a second run. I will update the original list with the first 50 units. I will also create a list of those members on the waiting list.
There are a few members who have ordered multiple units (myself included) I will reduce my order to one, will those members do the same?
No money is being collected at this time
Thanks
David
I found and got one at the swap meet in tenn, so the one I put in for can go to someone else.
Please add me to the list!
I'd like one also if not too late. Thanks... --MTS
I know it was asked, but have not seen a response. Do they make one for a 914-6?
Orthobiz wants one, too!
Paul
I would like one as well.
John
Hi David. PM Sent. I think you accidentally skipped over me ... I'm way back on page one of the thread.
I'm glad to be in on this G.B. ! i borrowed a friend's over the past weekend at Octeenerfest because my gauge was showing i was running a bit hot but needed to verify it. with the oil dipstick meter i was able to confirm that my gauge was pretty much in line with the gauge. I think it was reading maybe 10 degrees off when hot so that is good to know, -
I'll take one too if available.
Thanks.
Axel
Please add me to this Group Buy.
Thanks
This run is for only 50 pieces because that is what he ordered enough sub components for. He will consider a second run after the first run. The sub components are scheduled to arrive next week when he will begin assembly. The 914 model is not a current option on his website. When he is ready to start shipping I will let you know
Thanks for your patience
David
If not too late i would like one also.
+1 for me on the second run. Thanks.
Dave
I'll take one too if its not too late.
Please add me to list - 1st or 2 nd run.
Thanks
David
I'd be in for one if its not to late. 2nd run
Me too, if it's not too late.
In too if there's more or a second run
Anyone that does not have one of these should get one. I fund it invaluable in tuning my car, and testing the validity of the dash mounted oil temp gauge.
Zach
David, I would like one.
Coincidentally, what is the average oil temperature safe range on a 2.0 /4? What is the temp once it hits the red on the later style gauge (smaller red area) and at what temperature is it approaching not safeto drive temperature?
Me too, if it's not too late.
Me too please, if not too late.
interested in one as well.
thanks for the leg work.
Please count me in for 1 also.
put me on list #2 for one thanks
Put me down for one also
Please add me to the second run for one ( if postage to Australia is not an issue )
Cheers
Dale
Put me down for the second run. Thanks.
Scratch me. Changed my mind.
Good morning everyone
Sub components are scheduled to arrive this week. I will give him a call to check on the status
David
Interested in getting one as well if not too late.
I may as well hop on the bandwagon, late as I am...
Thanks,
Joe
Please add me to the list for one.
And thanks for doing this.
Curt
I will take one also please.
Shoe
Count me if for one he does a 2nd run please
I need to send some instructions to the members in the first run of 50 units. I have to believe there is a way to send out one PM to fifty members.
Thanks
David
How did I miss this?
If not too late, I'm in for one.
David, if still able I would like to be included. Cool item
Thanks!!!
Ditto, count me in for next run
Has the first run been done yet?
David, just asking. Are there any update on a potpotential 2nd/3rd. Run? Thanks
Me too. Thanks for handling this David.
David..........Thanks for doing all the leg work on this Group Buy, deal has been done, paid and confirmed on my 3...........again Thanks...........Jerry
PM 's have been sent to the participants of the first run. I will give everyone a week to order. Because I anticipate that some people will change their mind and not order I will send payment instructions to those next in line. As far as a second or third run Bob has not yet committed.
Thanks
David
Ordered my 2 @ 5:52.
Thank you David!
a lot of work on your part
mine is paid
thanks!
brant
Am I in one of these runs? I haven't seen any way to pay information.
Purchase made.
I'm pretty sure I ran hot last weekend, hopefully I didn't do too much damage. My engine, and many others, thank you for helping us monitor our temps!
I sent payment information to those that made the first run only
Thanks
David
dang I didn't make the cut
Bob has started to ship the units priority mail. You will receive the tracking number once it is boxed up. The first 30 units should be shipped by Monday.
Thanks for your patience
David
David.
I just received my 914 dip stick gauge & thanks for everything.
Looks good, haven't installed it yet, but assume it fits the hole??
I am a little surprised about the dial size, I was thinking it would be larger. No problem, I just need to put my glasses on.
Tom

finally processed the payment, i tried from my phone over the weekend but was having network issues i believe.hopefully my payment was accepted in time to still be out in t hte first group. ( i was signed up around #25 or so) - not an emeergency but looking forward to getting int just the same.
Received mine today. THANKS!
USPS tracking claimed I would receive mine today but it doesn't look very promising
David
I should be getting mine by Wednesday according to USPS tracking.
Looks so nice David..........Can't wait to get mine.
...so second run?
Just to recap since it was a while ago, I'm in.
Got mine today. My only complaint is that it does not measure low enough to show actual temp during winter.....
I just sent a PM to a few more members with the payment instruction for the dip stick temperature gauges because a few of the members never ordered theirs.
It looks very favorable that there will be a second run
David
My 3 came today, very nice
Got mine today. Thanks for setting this up!
I am in for one if there is a second run.
Thanks,
Ken
Got mine today. Thanks, David.
Received mine yesterday.
Thank you!
j
Mine came yesterday. Thanks for organizing this!
I don't think it's an issue, but thought I'd check.
My Mainely gauge sits a bit loose in the dip stick holder. Is this an issue? Sorry if that's a dumb question. I'm so used to using force to push in or pull out the old dipstick that this one seemed odd. It falls right in, no "pinch" when it's all the way in. It has very little play at the bottom of the stick, from what I can tell. But at the top where the dip stick tube flares out there is about 1/8" play.
Thoughts?
j
I have 3 of these that I just received, and with all of them the rubber seal slips over the dip stick tube for a perfect fit and seal.
I was not aware there was a rubber seal for the dipstick.
I guess that solves that. Now hopefully this part is not NLA.
Did yours not come with the rubber sleeve at the top ????
If I understand what Jorge is saying, he did not realize there was a rubber sleeve at the top of the dipstick. That sleeve is tight and you need some force to get it to seat correctly.
Jerry - Thanks for that last bit of info I needed to figure out what I was missing. I guess mine accidentally got shipped without the rubber sleeve.
I just talked to Bob at Mainely, what a great guy. He's putting one in the mail for me.
Got mine, but I have to say, the gauge is pretty small, exactly the same size as a quarter. My poultry thermometer is bigger.
Not sure if I could read this without reading glasses. Yeah, I'm an old F&#k.
Rob - I'd rather toast the roast.
For Sale: Hey, I got one and it works fine, but I have changed my mind..... I do not want to use it. I paid $59.94 with shipping.
If you are willing to buy it, that is what I would like to get. I saved the mailer and the paperwork inside, you get that too.
Clark
Bob is going to do another run of 50. He has ordered the parts and once they come in I will send instructions. I only have 36 names so everyone should get one this time around.
I will post those names tomorrow
Thanks again
David
Cool, thanks David

David,
Add me to the list. I'll take one.
Chester

I want one too, I think I'm among the first ones to ask. Somehow, I'm not on the list.
I would like to be included for one of these. It could be shipped to my son who lives in Tiburon CA. Thanks
Good evening everyone
Ordering is open and I have sent instructions to those of you in round two. I have tried very hard not to miss anyone.
Once again thanks for your patience

David
Got mine a day or two ago, haven't "installed" it yet
Thanks again David for getting this set up and made for us!
No problem guys. I wanted one also.
i was very keen to have one, but the $39 USD postage price to Australia quoted by the web site killed it for me.
Sorry, at that price I couldn't justify it
Dale
I also was very keen to get one but the postage was to expensive to the UK
Mainely is now out of business
Good thing we did the Group Buy when we did!
