Well, there is another 914 converted to a Teenarossa on Ebay. Starting bid is 500 but reserve has not been met. I dont understand why someone would go to the expense of building one of these and leaving a stock 4 cylinder engine in it. If the car looks fast, it should be fast. Put a 6 or an 8 in it and make it worthy of the look.

"Best year"? Highest HP? Most desirable? Clean "TRUCK"? and so on ......... And that's the '76. The '70 "shifts like it is supposed to. Perfect"? You'd think people who put up ads and auctions would spell check them .................................. The Cap'n, feelin' especially Krusty this morning ..................

What the hell does that mean?
If you go the the car diagram and put your cursor over the rear glass, you learn that the back glass has a "custom Porsche horse etched in the glass".
Man are the boys at Ferrari gonna be pissed when they find out Porsche got their horse.

that's probably why you posted in the wrong thread!
no doubt you were talking about the green '76 in the other thread.
this is a yellow wide body with a 1.7 in it that seems to have a single carb setup ...

Some one put mucho time and mucho money into this car. And for what? A loss is what. Sad, but I am the belief that most 914's should be converted to 914-6 GT road going cars.

Look closely at your Porsche crest. The center (the city seal from Stuttgart) has a horse.

I responded to a message that WAS part of this thread, Andy. I also cited a line from the auction for the '70 (about the "perfect" shifting). There is a SECOND thread about the '76. The Cap'n

It still has a 1.7 in it! HAHAHA...at least put a 2.0 in there...sheesh! 
It prolly loses HP with that carb. Its prolly drowning in fuel. The powerband is prolly as thin as a razor! I'll bet the inside of the pipes are black and sooty as any fireplace chimney!

Well, just like it says, it certainly looks fast. With that bare metal wing on the back it just must be a screamer. Aero to keep the back end in contact. I think it needs color matched windshield wipers and a script across the top of the windshield. Preferably something with the letter Z in it, like "KoolKarz." Yeah, that's the ticket.

i note in reading the question the reserve is $8500.
