I gave mine a mastectomy!

I kind of like the protection the tits provide from parking bumps. However if my car had them I would get a reduction to make them project out about 1/2 of what they do stock, kind of like going from a D cup to a B cup biggrin.gif

C'mon, confused24.gif someone has to have a fake set ?

I thought about welding and re- chroming $ ,but My bumper chrome is really good, and if there were ( fake tits) you could just bolt them on,and off . if one so desired. Don't get me wrong here, I'll always love a nice set. cheer.gif

Just get some chrome head carriage bolts to fill the holes.

Posted by: Grelber Oct 18 2014, 05:23 PM

I just went to the plumbing aisle and got some chrome caps. They come in different sizes and fit perfectly.

They are cheap and easy to find. Ironically, the curve sits the bumper perfectly.

Those are nice, not so stripper-ish.something a little smaller made with metal would be cool, although I like your set.

Posted by: Porschef Oct 19 2014, 07:23 AM

I kinda did the same thing, but lift them in the factory orientation

Diff'rent strokes... biggrin.gif

Had to be reworked a bit but saved a little body work in one spot where there'd been a slight impact, and some hole fillin'

This is a tough one for me to call. I like the early look a lot & I really like Sleepins breast reduction surgery wub.gif , but I'm used to my big honkin knockers & would love to find another source for them besides "Atlanta". If someone goes into reproducing big honkin knockers I would recommend that they manufacture them w/ stainless steel hardware, so as to avoid any future breast cancer issues.

Thank's for all the great comments about my tits! blink.gif

I originally tried them out like Porschef, they look good that way too. The only problem that I had was the curve didn't match up at all. I supposed I could have massaged the tits a little to make the curves match, but when I turned them sideways, I was really happy with how they fit.

Same here. Sleepin, could you give a part #? I'm having trouble finding that exact parts diagram with a list of numbers. One of my tits rusted off and I would like to put things back together.

So did you do the rear too? So that is what you did? take them off of a 75-76 bumper or some other car? I enjoy wondering thru the local junk yards, so that is just something else to look for, if I don't go with the 75-76 scavenge.

Posted by: sb914 Oct 21 2014, 07:29 AM

Well I thought a lot of you guys would have augmented yourselfs. sawzall-smiley.gif
My DDS got to go.so I'm going to perform the surgery myself,im sure it will be pain staking but she'll like it when I'm done.please if anyone else has done this I'd love to see. idea.gif

Posted by: Sleepin Oct 21 2014, 08:40 AM

I did not do the rear. I had a nice set of big, 1974 tits that looked good on the rear. The curves seemed quite a bit different on the rear...so much so, that I would have had to reshape the inside curve of the smaller tits to make it look good on the bumper.

Yes, I used the factory 914 BUB tits on the front. biggrin.gif

As I recall the bolt hole spacing is different on the 75-76 tits. Did you redrill holes in your bumper?

Thank you sleepin! Well I still have my 75 bumper and I'm planning to replace it with early bumper. So here is a picture where I can get the front bumper guard.

"BUB" means "Big Ugly Bumper". California and at least one other state had additional bumper guards ... little "A-cups" front and back, like on Jim Hoyland's copper '75:

I'm pretty sure 914 rubber is making them. He used my NOS tit's for the molds (at least for the fronts)

Posted by: rgolia Oct 21 2014, 01:47 PM

I like sleepins look with the b-cups, but the d-cups allow you to dress them up with some bling...ie a pair of driving lights. Plus after 40 years of d-cups I have kinda grown attached.

Yes, with turning them sideways, you need to have vertical holes instead of the stock horizontal holes. The curve is not right at all mounting them right side up.

here is a picture of the hole difference:

and the curve alignment:

In hindsight, you are probably correct Clay. It would not be too hard (I imagine) to cut off the current studs, drill a couple holes in an A cup tit and epoxy a thread insert into it. Then you would just use a bolt through the existing bumper holes for mounting.

I went in a different direction, using the original mounting holes in the front bumper to mount a set of Hell 500 driving lights. I sent a sketch of a bracket I designed to David Lee, a 914 World member vendor. David tweeked the design a bit and fab'd the brackets for me. You can see the brackets and also the Hellas mounted to a spare bumber at my Blog here: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=246&

Scroll down the page to where I list the parts I collected for my GT conversion.
