I am looking into buying a Boxster that been maintained by this shop.

Yes, Tony is one of the good guys. Been to his shop several times. Grumpy old guy who knows his stuff.

Good guy, he worked on my 944 years ago and I was always happy with his work.

Thanks guys! So the big question would be. If I like the car do I call Tony and ask him his opinion, pay him to do PPI or take it to a place I trust like Hi Tec in San Rafael and have them do PPI?

I personally trust him; I have used him on and off for years. He's a good guy. You can even ask him if you should pay him for a PPI and he won't BS you about it.

If you can get the car up to San Rafael, and you trust Hi Tec, that's a great way to go as well.

Thanks Dave and Rob. This would be for my 17 year old. Second car. He will be selling his 98 Ford F-150 if this works out. I am going to talk to the owner today.

Tony has maintained my Porsches for nearly 20 years. I'd be fine taking his word on a customer car that he has maintained.
