914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Got use of a water jet tomorrow

Posted by: jeffdon Oct 27 2014, 08:07 PM

A buddy is renting water jet time tomorrow for 3 hrs. He thinks his stuff will take only a portion of the time, and has asked if I want to cut anything. I have no idea what might be a good quick project for my 914, but I do have some 1/4 steel plates, about 10" x 10" that I am itching to do something with now.

Any suggestions for potential cutting?? I can draw something up pretty quick and save in DXF formant......

Tow hooks for the front a arms
A bling 914 sign
A dashboard plate with a design in it
Custom headlight bucket covers
A circle, just cause no one will be able to figure out how you cut it perfectly
A nested set of circles....like Russian dolls, same reason as above
A custom wind chime of little 914 cars
A peace sign

Drill a hole in the top edge of each one and use a fishing line to connect all of then.
Maybe run the line all the way through.
Then hang it up and when you are bored stiff at work, you can spin it around

Any new tool would be cool.

Marty.

I recognize that piece and I would be interested in two of those as well.
Do you have a template for the rears? (see my post above).
I'd just post a pic, but dont want to be TOO obvious what I'm trying to reproduce.
