914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Just saw 9140431835. Most original 914 I have ever seen.

Posted by: ConeDodger Oct 28 2014, 04:20 PM

I dropped by my friend Brian Lowder's shop - Reno Rennsport. Sitting inside was a beautiful Signal Orange 914-6. Story is that it was purchased off of Ebay by a collector from Houston. Owner has actually never seen the car. He called Brian and asked him to go through it and check it out. It has 100 miles on it in the last 28 years. 65K or so total miles. Brian thinks that the paint is original and it is pristine. (except for the drool I left on it, sorry...)
It is in the database. biggrin.gif

It's already in there. Someone saw it on Ebay and posted it in the registry. Not sure when they did that but I hear from Brian that it is stored here in Reno and that the owner has many collector cars including a real Carrera. Brian said he is knowledgeable. I have a couple pics I took of the driver side and the VIN# I'll post later.

Next time you're at the shop, tell them that the turn signal lenses are upside down ...

Nice car, but I see scratches and rust. I also drooled on my keyboard.

... and if we're being really picky, the dome light is also upside down ... and the blue plates aren't original. But I'd take it in a heartbeat!

the car was on eBay from July 27 to August 6 this summer
the seller lowered the BuyItNow price 8 times biggrin.gif
didn't meet the reserve price during the auction ...

Not sure how "original" that is. Isn't that a later model rear bumper?

Posted by: Gustl Oct 29 2014, 06:02 AM

yepp, it is

there are some strange holes in the rear bonnet, that shouldn't be there

but hey - that's a really nice car, no doubt wub.gif

And here you can read again all other things the community has discussed that time:

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=240142&st=0&p=2069884&#entry2069884

Car was most likely sold for 75k USD. Unfortunately the seller had no documents with it. So the history wasn't comprehensible. But car looked pretty nice and paiting seemed to be the original one.
