4.3 litre Chevy S10 pickup/blazer engine
Yes that's it, thank you. In haste I missed it off.
Would be interested in your views.
Thanks
Brian
I don't know the car but it is not too far from me. You think fit 26 he could post more pictures and go a little less on the hype.
I don't think a car like that is worth anywhere 26k.
I agree, ad needs a lot more pictures. No idea what the front looks like or the condition of the trunks & hell hole. Looks like a lot of work went into the conversion & one has to wonder why not a 350 cubic inch V8 instead of the 4.3 litre? They're practically the same size engine & well built 350's are more than plentiful.
One generic question I have that you might be able to advise on is about fibreglass arches rather than steel... pros and cons and implications?
Thanks again
I don't know this car but here are my thoughts.
The buy it now price is way too high for a conversion car unless it was absolutely mint and had a more desirable engine combo.
The V6 engine, while a good engine, is not the most desirable. A V8 would be better. An Audi turbo would be even better.
There are not enough pics of the key trouble areas. A PPI would be in order before purchase for sure. At that price it should need nothing and have zero rust.
Most original 914-4's don't sell for that much money, so it's a gamble for sure.
I don't think I could ever get the time and money out of my conversion that I've spent on mine. I think I would be lucky to get $15k; if that...
It must be that time; this is another car I was looking at last year (we could not reach agreement on price, though he's down about $5k from where he started then...)
The seller sent me a bunch more pictures (which I have deleted, sorry). He is not much of a photographer, but in general it looked like a reasonably well done conversion with a few odd wrinkles (e.g. coolant was run via square tube and leaking).
Interesting engine choice... 310 "estimated" HP though, it would still go pretty well.
Very " Mills and Boon " , romance style ad writing though, turned me off a bit.
Looks good
I want to know who all the bidders are with that few pictures. Could be a nightmare under all that fresh exterior.
While I love my 914, this line gave me a chuckle:
"When it comes to nearly universal appeal, few European cars bring it quite like the Porsche 914. "
I found some of the pictures the seller sent me last year; not sure whether anyone cares enough for me to attach them here.
