Some of the fun activities planned are driving tours, games, a People’s Choice Car Show, wine tasting tours, a tech session and more. This event is being planned by three guys (and their wives) who have been a part of the 914 world for over 25 years.

Donations from vendors have already started. Besides the activities listed above, we will have event T-shirts and a small swap meet. Plus, you think you know your 914? Let’s find out with a 20 question Tech Quiz.

We want you to be a part of this event. Drive your 914. Pull it in on a trailer. Needs paint? No problem. It runs, right? Tell a friend, bring a friend! Hope to see you there!

If you have any questions feel free to contact one of the Co-Conspirators; Mike D. , Leamon S. (heeltoe914) or Don Cameron (don-6) !

WOW, looks like it is a great location & should be fun but
It is the same weekend as the sportscar races at Laguna Seca.
This is the race series that used to be American Le Mans series.
I have a campsite overlooking the corkscrew, have to pay for early each year to keep it.

So I am out sad.gif

Oh yeah. Closer than Red Rocks. This one is close enough for the SoCal members. Plus we can all stay at Elyut's and save a ton of $$$. Ought to have one Hell of a Caravan from San Diego area! I looked at google maps which shows a 30 min difference between taking the 5 vs. the 101. Can that be right? If so, I'm in for the scenic route.

Posted by: RobW Nov 6 2014, 09:37 AM

Awesome! Thanks for organizing this! smilie_pokal.gif

Posted by: rdauenhauer Nov 6 2014, 10:11 AM

Damn! Why so early? 1st of May?
I wanna go.....

Posted by: Heeltoe914 Nov 6 2014, 10:24 AM

Lets pull a rabbit out of a hat and make this event Great. What makes an event is the people behind the cars.
I am hoping to see some friends as fare back as my first event in Lake Tahoe 1989 I think that was the year? And I am looking forward to meeting a whole lot of new friends.
It would be fun to see some photo from the early days is anyone wants to share.
If you can plan on booking rooms early our the day we confirm the Hotel. It helps the organizers allot the faster we all start booking room.

We will start considering a 914 Tune-up day a few weeks before the event so We can go over some cars to try and make sure you don't come home on a trailer.

Posted by: mapguy Nov 6 2014, 04:09 PM

Hope to have my car dialed in by then. Might come up either way!

Did you want to stay in your RV? or just park it in the lot as the party place?

The Manager said their was plenty of room for rv parking. However I don't think they want you staying in it. The entire north end of the parking lot will be ours to use.

San Simeon State Park is right there and has lots of RV sites if you want to RV it and tow your 914. They book up fast. If you want one book it NOW through Reserveamerica.com - the website says 80 of 166 sites are available.

You guys have takin some of the worries off our shoulders with the Hotel and planning. So if you have not booked yet and can spare a few buck please get the Ocean View Room. So you can:
Here the Roar of a type four motor with a crossover pipe. It Sounds like a Ferrari.
But only if its parked between the hallways with the Ocean View room.
Get an early sniff of Joe’s famous chili and after eating it you will wont to be close to the Ocean View AIR rooms.
And don’t take a chance on missing the parking lot antics, Like The 914 beer bottle over the shoulder toss first one to get 9 plastic bottle into the Targa wins.
All this is happening along with helping the organizers meet the room expectation
that we bargained for. This is the hotels Hot session so please help us out if you don’t wont to be at the end of the buffet line or be at the end of the line of each driving tour following
5 914s that blow 20- 50 oil.. And remember if you get a Ocean View room ( We’ll leave the light on for Ya)
Whatever you do please come enjoy and most of all Have a great time with us.

Here is a nice drive I would suggest. I bet the PR Dept. at Fort Hunter would let us stop, gas up and eat. If not, there is gas near by for those with small tanks.

Bad news! When Joe left the SoCal contingency he took the RV. The good news is we all we be driving our teeners so that driveway is perfect. Once we get "good and schnockered" we can do some time trials. Then at midnight the 6's can have a burn out contest piratenanner.gif

Could a printable flyer be posted on this thread ? I can post flyers in the local P shops and leave flyers on 914's at various local events. Just needs to provides the basic: Where, when, etc and a link to this thread or a link to a registration form.

A nice flyer that can be downloaded might ensure a larger turnout ?

Elyut, what's the travel time difference between taking the 101 vs the 15? Google said 30 min's. Is that correct? I'd much rather take the scenic route if it isn't too much longer. And don't forget to check in with your Parole Officer this time. I thought for sure he was going to revoke your parole after that last trip.

It may have been the 2004. Count the 914s in the track picture. Joe Sharp had some bar-b-Ques that attracted over 50 914s. That was over the whole day....

We should easily be able to get 50 to San Simeon. Print Mike's poster and get them into the hands of 914 owners; we could end up with 75-100 cars.

The 356 Club will be HQ'd in Cambria at the same time. They expect 130+ cars to show up. May 2nd they will have an event in Del Mar Park down the road in Morro Bay

We should crash their party with 50 914's.

Actually: we have a standing invite if we want. I' thinking something else is already planned

Yeah, one of the disorganizers is a 356 registry member. It will not be a surprise, sorry guys. beerchug.gif

Posted by: pisces914 Dec 23 2014, 11:12 PM

not to get off track with the 356 stuff, but . . .

the 356 north meets south (356 club not registry) often falls on the same weekend as r gruppe treffen - many years ago, we shared a lunch event with the 356 folks - 356's were parked in one section, and early 911's in another -

i was walking around checking out the cars and i got back to the r gruppe section, where i witnessed 3 middle aged PCA type ladies looking around - they looked like they just smelled a dead animal in the r gruppe section - one exclaimed, "let's go back to where the nice porsches are!" - that really cracked me up - lol-2.gif

all in all, these 356 folks are very nice and welcoming, but 356's are their thing - i get it, as i'm also a 356 registry member, but i have a 356 outlaw, which had much more shock value a few years ago - psyched for the ramble in my 914!

Posted by: Mikey914 Dec 24 2014, 01:16 PM

Definitely should crash the 356 party!

Yeah, I noticed they didn't have a registration, nor a itinerary IIRC confused24.gif

Have the planners reserved breakfast, lunch and/or dinner banquet rooms anywhere?, or are we to dine wherever we can find a place?

Duct tape and a Shaprie if you wish blink.gif ... I just thought it would be nice to have some sort of name tags like in the past. There's a lot of new folks that I haven't met attending our events now-a-days.

We have some time before the event happens, but I surely wouldn't want to push Shirley into a crunch mode to make badges for everybody attending sad.gif

I'll be bringing up a pair of 911 frt calipers ( never used since rebuild by PMB), a 911 5 lug front susp and brakes, rear 5 lug conversion, early targa top, early dash, 2- 8 grand tachs, misc gauges, center console, and what ever else I remove from the car before then.

Posted by: JRust Jan 26 2015, 11:11 PM

Seriously a swap meet at WCR confused24.gif . I can see the appeal somewhat. Problem is for the weekend & event's. Who the hell is bringing a load of stuff. Won't most of us be in our 914's. I know my car will be loaded with my stuff just to make it through the weekend. I won't have room to bring anything home. Guess there will be some closer that it may work? I guess I'll go on a nice drive during the swap evilgrin.gif

Posted by: Mike D. Jan 27 2015, 12:39 AM

The more Don, Leamon and I have been "planning", we've nixed the idea of a formal swap for the event. However, as there is plenty of "stand around in the parking lot and BS" time over the course of the weekend I see no reason why you couldn't set out a few items to swap if you want. My car will be full of wine and cheese... melted cheese :-)

Posted by: Mike D. Jan 31 2015, 09:14 PM

I just have a rough schedule right now. Most everything will be Friday and Saturday.

Thursday we will have a fun route planned from the LA area to the Hotel with little or no Freeway time. smile.gif - Everyone should feel free to make local plans for a fun route.
Thurs. night is just check in, meet and greet, parking lot chit chat.
Friday there will be two separate tours as I have been informed that many folks don't care too much for wine or would prefer to drive more. So we plan to have a longer driving tour and a more local wine tasting tour. Then in the afternoon some games and car show. And Dinner is on your own.
Saturday is going to be a group tour with several photo op stops up and down Hwy 1. We are working out some specific details for this tour. A picnic lunch will be provided on this tour. Afternoon is more games and general parking lot malaise. Saturday Evening will be the awards banquet dinner and raffle/prizes etc.
Sunday is Bye Bye.
No Race, No Track time, Sorry to racers. But there will almost always be something going on. And time for you to look around and do some things on your own if you'd like.
If you want to visit the Hearst Castle, I recommend going on their website and pre-purchase tickets for a tour so you don't have to wait two hours when you get there.

Lots of fun with great 914 Friends!

Yeah I hope to have my wife with me. If not that hopefully one of my kids. Always hard to predict what will be happening then. We've got a family vacation to Disney World in a couple weeks. So my wife's vacation time will most likely be eaten up. Mine is no big deal so just depends what my son has going on. One of my girls is possible too but a little hard that time of year with her. Just an FYI on one of the events happening that weekend, click on the link below;

"Enjoy five days of unforgettable events held in charming, laid back seaside towns in San Luis Obispo County. Embrace the love of California's traditional surfing lifestyle and culture. Experience Central Coast wines, artisan brews, local California farm-fresh and seaport-inspired cuisine, as well as great music, art, and the amiable coastal community. Wine, Waves & Beyond events take place at several scenic venues throughout Pismo Beach, Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo. Over the last 5 years Wine, Waves & Beyond has raised $100,000 for local non-profit organizations, and we’re excited to see what this year will bring."

VINTAGE VW DISPLAY

Sunday, May 3

Alongside the surf contest, there will be a vintage VW display (Buses, Bugs and More) at the Addie Street parking lot, right next to the beach.

Thinking about taking my lovely wife there for our annual vacation. I've never really been to a rally, I'm new to the 914 world. We would fly in from Texas. Looks like San Jose is closer, rent and drive.

Check flights into San Luis Obispo. biggrin.gif

Posted by: SA-914 Feb 23 2015, 08:29 PM

Not bad to fly direct there $450/ea. I've got a southwest companion pass so my wife flies free with me. So I'm looking for a "close" swa airport. San Jose looks to be 3+ hours but would be a nice drive.

When is the deadline for registering? My health hasn't been to good lately, not sure if I'll make it, didn't want to spend the $ until I know if I can make it.
Even if I make it, doubt my car will, haven't worked on it much lately.

I really hate to own up to this but looks like Ill be in my truck again this year as Im really close (and excited) to getting my car on the road but Ive got a few hang ups that Im not sure I can get around in time. One is the dashboard being recovered and also Palo Alto Speedometer seems to be behind more than the given estimate due to a short crew after the new owners took over. So if anyone needs a rid or anything hauled down Ill have lots extra of space.

The only deadline is for the banquet. They want to numbers a week in advance. HOWEVER, it would be nice to get a head count for the other meals, shirts, goodies etc.

The Vendors beerchug.gif are coming in with some great freebies. Some for the goodie bags. I'd like to let them know what we need so I get something for everyone. Good Stuff.

If you have never been to the Hearst Castle, it is definitely worth seeing. It is amazing how much wealth and treasure W.R. Hearst acquired back in the days.
See you at the WCR.

I bet you have $36... poke.gif

For those that have never been, it's worth the visit. Imagine how the 19th Century Aristocrats lived. bootyshake.gif

Maybe you'll even run into Patty Hearst... William Randolph Hearst owned thousands of acres along the coast. He even donated the property known as Fort Hunter Liggett to the Army. The entire area was his private hunting ground.

$36 does sound pricey for a museum tour but I never get down to this area much. I have done the day tour but the night tour sounds like fun.

Uhhhh....that would be a gear box. A 901 car...I would have to carry the wine and cheese up North.

Speaking of traveling, have been doing a little thinking about this trip. It has been said that a real 914 owner that prepares to break down, won't break down. With that said here is a list of items that I am taking with me "just in case"

D-jet.

Spare MPS
Spare ECU
Plastic caps in case something fails (this happend to Bnrat at the WCR)
Spare points and condensor

Nice to have but don't: Spare distributor

Tools:

As many as I think I need and will need to change out parts that I have.
LED Flashlight
Aluminum tape
Duct Tape

Engine:
Spare spark plugs
Extra Oil-2 quarts
Wire

Everthing else that would fail catastrophically like engine components I couldn't fix anyway.

The other thought I had was making sure that the route I took had cell service. I know if you come off from the 5 in the Central Valley from the Lost Hills....that the service is spotty and somewhat if downright boring drive which makes me want to take a coastal route.

Any other thought from the 914 collective?

I know Mike and Don were talking about a "interesting route" up there and I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts to the above or suggestions?

Thanks Guys...and Gals.

Posted by: Chris914n6 Apr 7 2015, 03:04 PM

^^^
I add...

a towel to lay on under the car
rags for clean up
vinyl gloves to keep hands clean
extra water in case you are stuck somewhere a while
flat tire provisions

and a clutch cable as they have been known to randomly snap.

Otherwise if your car has been solid up to this point what's another 3 days.

I can't leave until about 10 AM for me on Thursday....that way we'll skip traffic anyway until we are out of LA County.

I know Mike will probably chime in on this eventually. I was thinking of the 101 route near Solvang instead of the Central Valley route. If you are coming from Vegas though that be longer for ya.

If need be I can rent a trailer and come pick you up (if it comes to that). I will only be at the WCR on Saturday but will be available all week end long if you need help. Not by much, relatively speaking. +50 miles and 1 hour.
I traditionally stop at the Barstow In-n-Out for food/getting off my butt. So after further consideration, more likely now to be around Oxnard 2-3ish.

Not by much, relatively speaking. +50 miles and 1 hour.
I traditionally stop at the Barstow In-n-Out for food/getting off my butt. So after further consideration, more likely now to be around Oxnard 2-3ish.

Chris, I'll be in Vegas overnite Wednesday and would love to meet up for the cruise into SoCal and up the coast if you can stand the company of a lowly Subaru Impreza...

We have an open room at the host hotel. I booked two rooms thinking my son and daughter in law would be coming. Alan and Terry were thinking about attending but the stars did not align for them. I will be cancelling the room first part of next week unless someone wants it.

This is the route I was thinking of.

Except I have to go on the other side of the San Gabriels 210 to 101 through Oxnard.

FWIW, we plan on eating lunch in Thousand Oaks around noon if anyone else wants to join up there. From there it will be the 101 to the 1 to San Simeon. ETA 1700hrs.

The more the merrier.

Don't know what route JP took for Route 66, hopefully he'll chime in. I can't speak for the others if they want to deal with the mid day Valley traffic. Stop and go traffic will not make my knee happy.

This is 1:30pm today. Destination is some random shopping center in Ventura on the forward side of the freeways.

It seems like it is ALWAYS bad going through the San Fernando Valley until you get to about Camarillo.

Almost makes you wanna take the PCH.

Posted by: Chris914n6 Apr 8 2015, 04:57 PM

It's too windy to work on the car..... so I've been playing with ideas.

It looks like Rick should make Ventura County around 3pm. To meet him there we should leave Vegas around 9:14 am aktion035.gif

We'll just need someone local to pick a good lunch stop in the Ventura vicinity and lead us out-of-towners through the twisties av-943.gif Or we'll just copy the caravan leaving before us beer.gif

If Googles accurate, we'll be in San Simeon 7ish.

I'm not going to make it, if anyone needs my hotel reservation let me know.

Your 'Picking up Rick' map looks about right.
I-15 to Cima Road. Kelso train Station. Amboy on Rt 66. Hwy 62 to I-10.
Going home I took I-10 to Hwy 95 North. (more traffic and less passing zones)

Then I can join the *official* caravan from the start on Thursday morning. MDB2.gif

Hi, Everyone. I know a few have been waiting for this. Sorry so late, but if anyone would like to join a caravan from the Santa Clarita area on Thurs. morning here is route I have planned. I have done this before and it's a lot of fun, with some great views and very little freeway driving. We can also stop by the James Dean Memorial and raise a glass (or a can smile.gif ) I was thinking 10 or 11ish, to give people time from south and east, and near the Magic Mountian Parkway exit.
Let me know if you are interested in joining so we don't leave anyone behind.

CARAVANS - lets all list the caravans meeting points again.
I think I have a group for some fun roads on the way up from Santa Clarita or the Valley.
10am at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf 28291 Newhall Ranch Rd, Valencia, CA 91355
Let me know if you want to join, we'll be going through Pine Mountain to Blue Star Memorial Hwy to Hwy46, James Dean memorial, etc.

Is any leaving LA on Friday? a Newbie is looking for a caravan, safety in numbers, you know!

Posted by: Mike Bellis Apr 23 2015, 12:43 PM

I will be at 680/580 junction around 2:15pm Wednesday if anyone wants to tag along. Look for the 914 on a trailer. smile.gif

I'll be leaving the Bay Area on Thursday, early afternoon.

Starting in Oakland, going down #880 to #101, then cut over to #1 near Salinas and hitting #1 near Marina.

That should put me at the Hotel around 6pm ...

Hate to say it but I won't be able to make it this year. Work trip came up and I won't be back in time. I was really looking forward to this. I wish you all many safe and enjoyable miles in your 914s and hope to see you next year.

We will be leaving Thursday about 5:30. Probably get there about 10-11, so most of you will be asleep (Hopefully...)

Still havent decided on the Fiesta ST or her auto Genesis Coupe turbo. Leaning heavily towards the Fiesta, but she's no good with the clutch so it'll be me driving all the time.

Gotta remind myself to put the spare back in the Fiesta...

That sounds like a good option for us landlocked mountain dwellers. The more ocean views I get the better I'm thinkin'. But others here know the roads better and that's what it really comes down to- IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ROADS!! aktion035.gif

I'm not married to it. So far only Me and Mike (mgp4591) are known to be coming from Vegas/the South East. I can drive this route home, I have to stop in Pasadena anyways. If there is more interest in a coastal route then as long as the time frame works.
Taking Pearblossom instead of Angeles Mtns cut an hour from the drive if an earlier depart time is needed.

Sure thing, Kent.

You're probably coming up the '5' though, right?

I'd be heading up the '405' mid-morning, so we could meet in 1k Oaks.

Isn't there a group gathering there for lunch anyway?

Just a last minute request- if anyone has some 911 rotor/hubs they'd like to exchange for cash at WCR, please send me a PM if you would. Not looking for a 5 lug conversion but the real, vented 911 type that many are using on their conversions. I'm looking for some to play with and eventually use and I thought this may be a good opportunity to check into this. If not so be it, it's still gonna be a blast!

Posted by: PDXMike Apr 28 2015, 09:10 PM

Came home from dinner to find that the neighbor kid across the street had backed into my tow vehicle. Didn't look too bad, but the driver's door is sprung pretty good. It takes some lifting to get it shut and the top of the window frame is flapping in the breeze. Would be a long, loud ride down.

Insurance will pick up most of the cost to rent a replacement truck but I'll be picking up the gas for the 16ft box truck and flatbed trailer. They won't let me tow with anything smaller. I'm just thrilled they have something available.

Here's something funny, Penske wouldn't rent a truck and car trailer for a round trip. Has to be one way. Arguing with the phone rep was a bit like headbang.gif . Eventually I just agreed to rent it on one side of Portland and make a "one-way" trip to another Penske location 6 miles away. I will be making a short 1700 mile side trip for a stop in San Simeon along the way.

See you all on Thursday!!

PDX Mike

I covered this in the PM I sent you but will repeat it here in case there are others. Eddy and I will be in the Ventura area around 1:00-1:30 and ready to cruise once we all connect. Couldn't find anything on pg15 but I wasn't sure if I should count back from 28 skipping odd numbered pages or just divide the number of pages by 914 and add 6.
Page 23 was much more informative.

I would like to extend a big thank you to the organizers, family and froends for making this a great WCR!

It was a great weekend. Got home about an hour ago, unpacked and glad I am off work tomorrow.

Sir Andy, I need to pace myself when drinking with you... drunk.gif

I also would like to thank this years ring-masters of the circus we call our world family members WCR meet! Every year i look forward to seeing my porsche family and every year you never disapoint me. From the first member i met (joe sharp in tahoe) to the most recent (cj in san simeon), you all remind me of the passion for our cars and give me the motivation i need. Thanks again for the awesome weekend that every year i second guess about spending the money to attend, but its totally worth every penny!!!!

Just got home. Finally lost the ignition switch stopping in Fillmore stopping for a cup of coffee and to drain the radiator...so to speak. Turned the key and no joy. As fortune would have it, parked on purpose on a hill...turn the key and popped started it like the old days when I couldn't afford a new battery. biggrin.gif

It was great seeing old friends and community members that I have not met before. Especially the guys from up North that drove a long way to this event. It was a beautiful site (San Simeon) and my wife and I had a great time. The drives and country scenes were absolutely spectacular. It is not often folks of such diverse backgrounds can get together to talk about our common interest.....our cars.

Special thanks to Sir Andy...who makes this site possible along with others. The sponsors for the event, PMB, 914 Rubber, Original Customs, and especially Tina, Don, Mike, Erin and Leamon who put it all together.

Sorry for the long post, but it takes a lot of work to do this and just wanted to express our appreciation.

Rob and Susan

I had an awesome time from start to finish … except getting sick barf.gif a few hours after the award dinner, but that's another story for another time.

Major kudos to the event coordinating team, everything was superbly executed from beginning to end beerchug.gif

It was really good to see old friends as well as meeting new ones. In addition, it was a real pleasure to finally shake hands with established members that were only avatars, forum posts and phone conversations for so many years shades.gif

I'll add that WCR 2015 is gonna be hard to beat, but looking forward to 2016 and [hopefully] many more to come …

Thank you all for making it another great event to remember ! party.gif

Ok all you West Coast Ramblers, looking for the owner of a heavily cracked dash top, probably a core. Last night someone left it by my trailer. Unknown if it was supposed to go to someone, or if it was discarded. LMK....
Also thank you to everyone that participated, and special thanx to the event organizers. Outstanding time ! biggrin.gif

Hi all, home safe and sound! 2 beers and 2 margaritas for relaxation. beer3.gif

I really want, again, to thank everyone who came out to the event. YOU are the ones who make these events great. I also know of several folks who really wanted to come out and thank you guys too. All the chatter keeps the thread on the first page and really brings awareness for the WCR.

I also want to thank all our sponsors again, and those who stepped up at the last minute and helped.

Mark D. / McMark brought a bunch vintage WCR/WCC items, and Original Customs shirts that we gave away. Thanks!

John P. / VegasRacer, who is a collector of really cool car art and custom P-car license plates, gave us some Route 66 shirts and a great WCR '09 license plate. If you were there in '09 then you already have one.

John / Kapt'n Crusty donated some vintage 914 Ramble hats and a great piece of 914 art, that went home with VegasRacer, of course!

Someone else also threw in a couple of R66 shirts that went into the raffle. Erin couldn't remember who. Thanks smile.gif

BIG BIG thanks to Mark W. / mikey914 and the entire 914Rubber.com family! "Seven!" beerchug.gif It was great to finally meet you guys. Thanks for all the great give aways and for livening up the eternal raffle! We were so lucky to have TOO many donations!

Eric S. at PMB for the give away that Everyone wants, including me.

Jaime / Oldskool, American Printworks, came through with our great T-shirts when it was crunch time. Thanks.

Jenna B. at Sierra Madre Collection
Mark T. at Stoddard
Alex W. at PreTech Motorsports
Dave B. at TREMotosport
Alex and family at Resotration Design
Craig at Camp914
Steve M. at Fourteener Magazine (I've got that article coming, I promise!)
Perry K. at 914Limited
Carrie S. and 914Central

SirAndy, for whom none of this would be possible!

Don and Tina Cameron for all the help
Leamon Stansell (123skylights.com for the banner and stickers) for all the experience and help.
And of course my wife! Never forget the wife in a thank you speech! biggrin.gif

This is like an Oscar speech, I probably forgot someone, but I hope not.
Love this event, I had a great time and look forward to someone else doing this next year! smile.gif

Thanks to the sponsors and thanks to the organizers...

I had a GREAT time....

Thank you Jim H for letting me drive your 914 on Friday...

Thank you Sandy for letting me drive the 996 Turbo all day Saturday, my drive home was boring....now 385hp is not enough for a daily driver!

Very inspirational event, I will be making more of an effort to get my car(s) on the road ASAP.

I hope to bring the wife and kids next time...it was a very expensive trip for me..well, not me directly..the wife took the twins to SF for the weekend and was not shy with the Amex card!

Oh yea, and thanks to those that had to remind me I am damn near bald...what I heard from more than one person: "I thought that was you, you had more hair last time I saw you!"

I also showed massive amounts of restraint..someone was selling a decent set of 2Liter Fuchs for $300 that I passed on, it was so tempting!

Posted by: forrestkhaag May 4 2015, 01:04 PM

A great time for all and we appreciate the efforts put forth by the organizers. Susan and I had to miss the banquet and awards ceremonies due to other social plans in Cambria however we were fairly confident that, based on my car's condition, no certificate-paper would be wasted on our not being there......

Congratulations to all involved / Thru the blurry eyes of a 914nut, it looked like a mileOcars!!.

Thanks, Now back to your regularly scheduled program.....

Again...many, many thanks and kudos to the organizers of this event! Erin, Tina, Mike, Leamon and Don...you all did a magnificent job! I had a great time and returned home happy after having met many wonderful people! Is there now a new thread where we can post the pictures we took from the drives and gatherings? Also, I saw several folks with go-pro video cameras....I would love to get my hands on some video of the drives. 40+ 914's in a row along the coastal highway was truly inspirational! Oh and the twists and turns of Nacimiento (sp) Rd was awe inspiring! driving.gif
