914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Should I sandblast Koni's before I paint them?

Posted by: quadracerx Nov 10 2014, 08:06 AM

Hey Guys...

I have a nice set of Koni Red Rear Shocks that I want to paint... Should I blast them with soda, walnut, sand, etc. before I paint them?

Or just scuff them up with sandpaper and paint?

Is Chevy Orange Engine Paint the closest match to Koni's factory color?

Thanks,

Steve

Chevy orange is similar to tangerine, Not sure about koni color as I havent pulled my fronts in a while but I would say "maybe"

Not sure about blasting either, Personally I would go with a good sand, maybe some rust protection primer and paint.
