Nice....I meant people that I sort of know....

LA is a broad generalization, Rich. What area? There are tons of us in the outlying areas.

I live in Riverside which is about 50 miles from LA. I know a lot of 914 members in the Socal area but few few actually in LA.
I would be glad to help if I could.

The taxes are about the same as Massive two s*£>, and the cost of living is about 10x higher depending on the area. Where is he looking?

Posted by: effutuo101 Nov 24 2014, 08:32 PM

Having spent about two years in Hopkington ma. I can say that!

Posted by: r_towle Nov 24 2014, 08:37 PM

It's all good for him, he is young and single, living here.
He needs and adventure, we all did it.

I just want to know there is a backstop if needed. it will take me at least 6 hours to get there.

we have family in sandiego, so there is that...

I will see if I can find the town from him.

He is 24..... I had a kid by that age, so I am sure he will be fine.
Just a parent.

I once heard my friend from SoCal make a joke about (SouthCentral) LA. "Cover me, I am gonna change lanes". It was in another time when South Central was ablaze in racial tension due to the Rodney King (can't we all just get along) issue, and other freeway road rage shootings. At the time it was kinda funny.

LA has changed a lot in 25 years. Palm trees and warm breezes. A great place for to be in your 20's, but he can't afford to settle there unless he gets 'discovered'. He'll be fine. Unless he gets struck by lightning or murdered. Even Bill Cosby with all his money and fame could not protect his son from random LA violence. But your son, he'll be fine.

If he is into cars there is a Cars n Coffee every Saturday morning at the UA Theaters in Glendale/La Canada. Good way to stay connected. Good mix of people young and old....cool cars.

Probably about 15 miles from Santa Clarita...which by the way is a nice place to be.

You are a parent as am I....and we will worry....BUT SC is a 9 or 10 on a scale of 10 so maybe worry less.

I live in what they call south Orange County. It's an hour north of San Diego and an hour south of LA. Lots of teeners.

It feels more like Billion.
Hawthorne, near LAX.
What city is like night and day. Santa Clarita is Good! Got nice surf, girls...
What work is he looking for?
One thing I can tell him is “Surfing sucks, don’t try it!”
Even if that pretty blond at the office tries to get him in the water, don’t, it’s a trick.
All she really wants is to get him into bed.
Other than that, if he shows no fear, he will be fine.

I used to live in South Orange County but escaped about 7 years ago. laugh.gif I'm about 2.5 hours north of Santa Clarita but I would be happy to help if I can.
Cheers, Elliot

Zactly,

You guys are really great.
I am six plus hrs away, family is over three in sandiego with traffic.

so, quick bail out, some locals I can sount on was what I was looking for.

What a cool site this is.

Posted by: campbellcj Nov 26 2014, 12:05 AM

FWIW I'm in Agoura, out near Thousand Oaks.

Posted by: andys Nov 26 2014, 03:08 PM

Santa Clarita here. I spent most of my life living in and around LA. As with any city, it has its crummy parts. Rent is high. Speaking of San Diego, it probably has the nicest climate in all of SoCal.
