do any other models share the same rear calipers?
james
No.
thanks just the awnser i was looking for.next question was there diffrent sizes in them ?was there a larger and a smaller model ?for the rear caliper?
james
No.
Unless you're talking 6 vs 4. They were the same physical size. The -6 pistons are bigger.
TIP: If you want to rebuild -6 rears buy the 914-4 rebuild kit (with the caliper 1/2 seals and the adjuster seals) and then get the early 911T rear kits for the piston seals.
The only difference is whether the are single or double bleeders. The doubles were on the later models.
Who made them? Girling, ATE, etc..???
ATE
James....
not sure what you are after, but I was going to be attempting to test fit a modern OEM rear caliper that has a built-in parking brake similar to the 914.
plus = aluminum, readily available
negative = will require a custom mounting bracket (no big deal for some )
5 bolt pattern, vented disks, carrera rears , minor spacer washers to work, boxster with adapters and vented disks, ????
Wasn;t the 914/6 rear caliper also used on the Ferrari...um 308?
Yes. With spacers for a vented rotor.
