Does anyone make repro seat foam ?
Or is it a matter of just finding a good set to work with or an alternative seats >?

Mark has sourced it. I know I have some he is holding for. He sourced it because of all the requests with the seat cover group buys.

I do have a set that I had cut that I will be providing to Phillip.
The main issue is that it is a high density foam and is more expensive by the inch. a full sheet is $360. I should be able to get 10 out of it. By the time I cut it it looks like about $45 a pop. Yes you can buy foam at your local fabric store cheaper, but this is the high density seat cushion foam.
I may look at making a molded part if there is some demand. It would take some of the labor out of cutting it, and disposing of the scrap. Just a matter of how many of these I need. So far the 10 should cover me for awhile.

Will this seat foam work for seat back. My 71 seat back is almost non existent. I drive with a dang old pillow for cushion.

The foam is correct for the seal back, and it's actually cheaper as they charge by the inch of depth so let me take a look and see what it would take to do this one too.
And to throw more mud in the water, we located a seat heater pad system that only draws 35A, instead of 55A like most. I have a few sets inbound. I'll post more later.

Well count me in for 2 of the seat heaters too, will those come in about the time you get ready to ship my foam and seat upholstery? Might As well do it all.

I did not find the foam on your website. Is it possible for DIY project or do i need to take to upholstery shop to replace the back foam?

I had not added them to the site yet as I was checking to see how well they work. The concern was the compound cuts on the foam are a little complex, and we wanted to get as close to factory as possible.

The old one.
Note the construction. It is a molded piece with a slightly softer top to it. The initial though was to do the same. male a mold and produce these. Then we looked at the numbers. It pencils out if we do 40-50 of these. The problem is that I don't think we will do that many. So duplicating the contour was the best bet. At least so far.

We tried our 1st prototype and were not as happy as we would like to be at least initially.
And yes we realize that the pattern was sewn with the wrong orientation on this one....oops. Good thing it was a test piece.

There should be a little more contour at the 1st seam. you can see it in the original part. But it soon became apparent why this didn't work. There is a tab that gets pulled down here. The foam shape is ok, but you will need to do as factory did and loop a thread through and pull this down to make the contour. We installed a pull flap in the parts we are making so you can do this.
Also looking at making replacement boards. Pretty simple to do may just leave it up to the end user.
It looks the the tuck at the 1st seam was contoured into the OEM piece that we showed, over time.
We elected to sew the top layer of foam into the covers we are providing.

Lastly the seat heater set. It's a nice set up. comes with a self contained harness so that you can easily assemble it. Even has an inline fuse. The switch has a low and high setting.

- i already have a circuit run since i have had 911/993 seats in my car that are electric, so i should be able to connect these to that circuit since i will be pulling those out and installing the original 914 seats once i have finished the re-upholstry project!
