One of the women in the picture is my wife(please no bad jokes) the other is a friend from work.
I shot this with my small DIG camera.
I will add more if no one objects.
Hey what can I say I like 914's

The tires are GT Dunlop Qualifiers, 245 & 265. They are okay for the street.
For the track I like to use Victoracer and Hoosier vintaged. I used too get my Hoosier's free since one of my friends we go buy a set test them at Daytona and say " Nope no good give me another set"
And Bob Woodman would hold them for me. I would use for 1/2 a year.

Tila was actually on that original Ted Nuggent reality show on Spike(I think) 2003. I thought for sure she would last til the end, but got kicked off cause she was too damn hot. And by the way, so is Ted's wife...DAMN!

They have her running around in a yellow thong trying to catch pigs. She had a layout in Playboy as well. Not too hard to find pics of her.

Brent did you get that engine?? Can we say V-10 914 class? aktion035.gif

Posted by: Quilmes Feb 3 2005, 06:49 PM

Doug: I don't know if I will be going to Daytona, I have my media pass from work, but I am also trying to get ready for Savannah SCCA. I need to re-new my license.
I might go Saturday.

Yes the spindles are raised and reinforced, the shock towers are set 3/4 of an inch inward and the tank had to be shortened.
Originally I had the oil lines going thru the tank, now the go in thru the heater channels.
I got rid of the Mocal front oil cooler, the angle was not working for me at Sebring I would see 270ํ', so I got a 944T intercooler and modified it to work with the oil fittings, it really works and for the street I have a pair of fans to help in traffic. I am still sorting out the chassis for the track, but boy is it fun to play with the big Dogs at Sebring.
You should see the faces of the Vipers and 360 drivers when I keep up with them on the back straight , the only thing is I can not go as deep into 17 and the hair pin as they do and at Bishop bend I was trying to keep up with a GT3rs < Big Mistake> 34yrs of suspension tuning in their favor, it get's loose big times. I guess I don’t want to test the metal against the wall.
I am currently building another 6 to do vintage and maybe EP/GT3. I will have less fear in that one.

Maybe I will see you there.

Thanks

BTW, what size master cylinder are you using with the 930 brakes?

I am using a master cyl from a MBenz 23mm, it seems to work fine. Firm pedal, but after a few hours at the track, my knee will be a bit sore. ( I think it’s age)
Attached or some images from cable hand brakes that I got from Armando’s web page.

My 914 had cable hand brake with 911 rear shoes, but the original hand brake lever was on my left and with the race seat I could not get my hand in their. I also initially wanted to participate in Vintage/SCCA Rallys with my car, I looked into moving the cable to the middle of the car as done originally in the 70’s but I would need to cut the center make room for the cable pulley get longer cables for the left side, weld a plate to the fire wall so it would not flex when begin pulled. headbang.gif
To install a Hydraulic hand brake I don’t need to add extra cable lines or make room for the new brake cable to run into the center of the fire wall., Just a weld two small tabs, and rout it to my proportion valve.

There is a difference between a line locker like the drag people use to lock up the fronts and a hydraulic hand brake to leave your car parked or slide it into position as one approaches a blind 120degree turn on .

I will also attach some hydraulic one and those used by modern day rally cars.

Thanks.

I am still waiting for my D70 to come in, I have been using film that's why the quality of my scans are not that good.
I have a small Konica 5meg. Which I used for the first image on this thread.

To get the image of the car in movement or going at speed. You have to use a slow shutter speed. and a steady base for the camera not to shake.

Example the photo of my car at night side-shot I think I shot it at 1/8th or 1sec duration and I must have been driving about 10-15mph at the most. It will give the image of a car really going fast since the car is in focus and the background is blurred.

Now that I have a place for my photos, I will due more for the 914club.
clap.gif Thanks clap.gif Thanks clap.gif Thanks:beer2:

martin,

thanks for all the info AND fotos!! they really are great, especially the 914-6 club fotos, they truely are epic. i've been seeing them around the web but didn't know they were yours. that must have been an awesome event. i'd be interested to hear the circumstances surrounding that club meet, if you don't mind talking about it. when and where, do they meet often? when is the next? so we can plan a 914club group tour to germany!! laugh.gif

hey, maybe when carl gets his lotus, we can get together again if he is up to it.

The meeting in Essen should be the largest 914 meeting in Europe. It's called the "International 914 Meeting" and happens every year in another country. If I remember correctly it was in Great Britain 2003, The Netherlands 2004 and Germany 2005.
Due to the fact that 3 original 916s are located in Germany, I'm pretty sure that at least one of them shows up at Essen.

I am happy that you like the photos.
Feb 18-20 Citrus PCA region will be holding a drivers event. I think it's $190 for the weekend.
This is a great chance to take out your Porsche 914 to the track. I might be there if I am not all tracked out from the week before.
Also I might be going to Road Atlanta for a PCA driver event, If so keep in contact and you can come out for a couple laps.

Thanks
