NICE Joe, and Mike...

very very very nice.

Posted by: VegasRacer Feb 5 2005, 10:44 PM

What are you going to use for door pulls?

Posted by: Dr Evil Feb 5 2005, 10:55 PM

Brant, if you think those are nice just wait until your dash pieces arrive!

Posted by: brant Feb 6 2005, 08:35 AM

I can't wait.....

dang makes me want to find some core early pieces so that if I ever fullfill my dream of restoring an original -6 someday I'll have a good dash for it..

are the early dashes different on just the lower piece or top also?

Brant,
all tops are the same, only the bottoms are different, i.e. early have no side vents, later have vents.

rs914 the panels look really good smilie_pokal.gif nice work dr evil

Joe,
the other panels that I had made the same time as yours may have had an incorrect dimention at the handle hole. The hole may be too big. We are checking on this currently. Would you please check that your handles fit correctly and if not let me know so that I can correct this problem if it exsists. Sorry for the alarm.

Posted by: Russian019 Feb 8 2005, 11:10 PM

Those things came out great

Posted by: Dr Evil Feb 8 2005, 11:15 PM

They did, but my other customer showed me pics of his handles not filling the whole hole. The hole was too long based on the pics. However, these doors are the same that I have been selling and this is the only one that has ever had a problem. That is why I want to see if Joe's were not right. I'll fixem, thats not the problem, its just a pain that this could happen. It is also possible that the other guy may have bus or other VW door handle pulls. I saw the bus's and they were similar, but shorter. We'll see.

I just double checked this run of panels against a stock pair and they fit like a glove so I am not expecting any other problems.

Man I hate worrying about dissapointing customers. I think I dodged that bullet.

How much do you charge for that? (the ones with the right sized holes)

Those door panels look great!

What bolts did you use to attach the door hinges to the tub? Stock, New-specs?

They're just new metric hardware from the local store.

Joe,
They should be fine. The other set that caused my alarm have been checked and are the same as the original. I am not sure what the problem is then, but your panels should be perfect.

Posted by: Dr Evil Feb 9 2005, 12:35 PM

Miles,
$200 if I use your good cores, $230 if I use new material and your metal door tops and hardware. I can do any color, pattern, etc.
