914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 914 rear swaybar droplink bushing installation

How do you install the droplink bushing into the droplink? I tried using a vice to press it in after greasing the bushing and link and all that happenned is the bushing compressed. I was going to try to put the bushing on the ball link then use a large pair of pliers to squeeze the droplink onto the bushing.

I recall getting the droplink on the trailiing arm was a bear and having to use a long prybar to force it on.

Thanks,
SD

I did it on my bench with a vice and some patience. I didn't heat the plastic up, but you kind of get one side going in and start to clamp the other side. Once the plastic is in the round ring, I used a hard rubber mallet to finish them in. They look a bit grotesque going in but they reshape themselves once seated. I did all four in about twenty minutes.

They WILL go in. (it seems as if they won't, or don't want to at first)
