I picked up my '72 from my mechanic and the battery died on me that day. he said i needed a regulator. apparantly he is charging me $100 for the part and the install. how much is this part generally(i cant seem to find it listed) and does this sound resonable for an install? thanks!
If it really is the voltage regulator, pelican has them for $38.50
and it takes 15 seconds to put in. That is the old mechanical
type, which can be replaced with a modern electronic one
cheap from any FLAPS.

Oh yeah, that type does go on the outside of the relay board, not
covered by the cover. (There is a pigtail to the connector). But it
is cheap and better than relying on the mechanical one. The key
word is VR650, not Por$che
argh, methinks i got hosed.....I wonder if I should experss this when i go to pick up the car tomorrow. i need to save it from his clutches!
I could only find this Voltage Regulator at AutoZone.
