914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Are 914s Chick Magnets?
Posted by: Cuda911 Feb 23 2015, 12:48 AM
On Rennlist last year, someone posted a thread with the title "Are 911s Chick Magnets?"
The general consensus was a big fat "NO." The vast majority of people that want to talk to you about your 911 are other guys.
However, I have noticed that lots of women come up to me in the 914 to ask about the car, with a big smile. I guess they see it as cute, friendly, and welcoming.
It's sort of like walking along the beach with a puppy on a leash, as far as I can tell.
A couple days ago as I was driving along the coast, someone called over and said "That's one sexy car!"
Thoughts?

I had several girls ask me to give them a ride and they usually want me to go fast.
Always happy to oblige ...

Not really sure- I'm a chick magnet anyway so it'd be hard to tell the difference from what the car draws from me! Besides, my car's on jackstands in the garage...

I had more 'chicks' approach me when I had several Ham Radio antennas on my Tacoma 4x4
Only one time has a young lady asked me about the 914. A high school girl on her way home stopped and asked what kind of car it was - and instead of saying, "It's a Volkswagen", I said "It's a Porsche". Then she said, "Oh, I love Porsches"

WARNING: THIS POST IS X RATED !
Driving 914s for over 40 years, I've had many women ask for a ride. One instance comes to mind more than the others. Chick in a bar who had a few cocktails asked for a ride. I said sure. She asked off we could take the top off. My answer was. "Sure, but only if you take your top off". She said let's go. We did, she did. Half hour later we were at a secluded spot at the lake and, well, you know the rest of the story. Also, I've had a few oral encounters from strangers while driving. Ah, to be young in the 70's.
Are they a chick magnet? Hell yes!.

How do you get a Single Girl into your Garage to see your 914 on Jackstands?
Of course, once she sees it, she will get moist and her clothes will fly off!

Not unless she was a car girl to start with, no. Mostly its guys. Zach

I can say for sure that creamsicles are without a doubt female magnets. Something about the colors, shape & size gets them wondering.

If your 914 is on jack stands, the trick is to pick her up on your motorcycle and bring her back to the garage to show off your project. Guaranteed deal sealer.
Well, worked for me at least...Happily married to my awesome wife for 1.76 years now.

My 914-6 has been with me for 38 years, and that 'girl' that like it has been my wife for the last 35, so some seem to like them just fine.
I do have a good friend that owns a Boxster, a convertible Corvette, and a Beetle cabriolet. He tells me he gets more female attention driving the Beetle than either of the others. Go figure!

Yowza, I guess it IS a chick magnet.... those two seem to be completely stuck on it. I wonder, were they just walking by and got sucked in by the magnetic pull? Hope they didn't scratch the paint or leave pock marks.

It's not rocket science why your wife likes your 914 ... after all, her dress IS shaped like a jack stand

The Fiance' finally admitted to me that the 914 was a bit immature.
I laughed and said "yep! but I love it"!
My answer to the question.....NOPE...but who cares....

914 and chick magnet? Can those be used together in the same sentence?

Funny thing about it. I had a '73 2.0L back in 2005 - 2006, kinda grayish silver, actually a GM color, that attracted young women. Often they would stop and stare as I drove by, in parking lots they would come up and ask about it, make comments like "cute" and "cool". Many times wives/girlfriends with their significant others would start a conversation with me in a parking lot or at a stop light.
Then I sold it and got a '70 Irish Green /6. Nothing.... not a peep. No stares, no questions, no comments from the ladies. Some guys will ask about it or say cool car. Both were stock in appearance.

Oh yeah, stopped at a service station in Florence, SC fueling up Buttercup & a sweet Georgia peach leans out of the back window of a riced up Acura nearby and drawls...."I lahhk yower caahra....is it a furrarri?" Dweeb in the front seat jerks her back in and keeps a firm grip as he drives off....
'Nother time I'm stopped at a Carolina rest stop with Kermee on the trailer and a big rig stops next to me. Out of the right door pours a lady along with a blizzard of papers now blowing across the lot & the driver running to catch them. I help him corral up the documents & we turn around to see his lady arched across the fender of the car with her cell camera outstreched for a selfie not giving a hoot for the driver's plight. That's magnetism for you...
