Pic of my 911 after paint. Here is an example of the quality of paint job that JJS performed on my 911.
That whole left front fender was trashed. There was so much rust in front of the gas tank, we cut everything out and welded in a new pan section.
Came out straight as an arrow. Perfect gaps & rust free.

You know that the screen over the fan is not original, right? wink.gif

We still have time to get it right.

Posted by: sda4property@gmail.com Mar 12 2015, 05:45 PM

I told the guys to go nuts & they added one too many new parts.
The mechanic can pull that aftermarket part off before the motor goes in.

Posted by: Jeff Bowlsby Mar 12 2015, 05:55 PM

That alternator harness looks pretty sketchy too. They always fail right where they pass through the tin...do you see any exposed metal wire in that area?

yes, but using a Bus screen sure keeps the crap out of the fan

Posted by: sda4property@gmail.com Mar 12 2015, 08:41 PM

Jeff,

Not sure IF we have any exposed metal however;
I believe you are correct to purchase.

1) Alternator harness
2) Wire harness
All at the same time.

Going to complete the paint & body,
Go to 914 Rubber to complete the rubber kit 1st.

Already 5K over budget. The life of an enthusiast. type.gif

Back to 914's

Posted by: sda4property@gmail.com Mar 18 2015, 01:01 PM

ENGINE COMPARTMENT:

We ran into some delays in the body shop when;
We found small pin sized rust holes in the " Hell hole ",
Right side under the brain.

The following pieces were purchased from Sierra Madre.
Please refer to the Restoration & design website for the following part #'s.

http://www.restoration-design.com/store/category/914

P-319 Engine Tray ( Right side )
P-317 Battery Tray Support
P-315 Battery Tray Clamp
p-316 Battery Tray

Also:
Vin # documentation for window
Vin # documentation for boot

This completes the documentation for "All" Vin #'s on the Bee

Turning out great Scott. Send me some good photos when its done and I will update the LE Registry.

Note to speculators: Its interesting that the VIN of Scotts car is in a long line of L041 (factory black) LE cars. Scotts LE (VIN 14863) is real, yet just three VINs away, VIN 14860 is also an L041 (the black 74 2.0L currently on ebay), but its not an LE, it only has the appearance group.

Did you paint the fan shroud? It looks shinny rather than flat. Here's how it looks if you have it bead blasted
