I am looking for information about this car. Is anyone close or does anyone know anything about it?

Looks like a rough overspray paint job but hard to tell!

Yes.

I just received all the pics. Give me a minute to post them on the web server and thumbnail them.

The guy's wife is in the hospital and he is trying to cover 20% of her bills. He is and has been a avid 914 guy for over 15 years.

I can have somebody go look at it this week if you want.

I kinda like the car..but I'm already committed to buying a 9146 in LA.

The car I'm buying was destined to get repainted anyway... so no need for this one.

He say's the PO spent something like 7k for a full paint.. luckily Yellow was the original color (not a color change car)

I don't like those intakes sitting there exposed so crap can fall in the engine.

He also said it he has a NEW wiring harness for it.. one of the kits Dennis Aase used to sell at Aase brothers.

I wouldnt be against driving out with truck and trailer and picking it up for somebody (for gas and food)

It is screaming for a 3.0 or 3.2.

Yeah.. the open intakes are not good... but I'm betting he pulled the covers off and rolled the car outside for the pics. He is very 914 savvy. He has a steel GT flared 73 2.0 also. I actually recall when Rich Johnson used to deal with this guy when he lived in Houston back in the mid to late 80's.

Rich would drive down from Plano and meet the guy half way to deliver 914 parts to him.

I'd love to save you the trip by getting it myself and bringing it further east. tongue.gif ....but we may be building a house which would trump my desire for a genuine sixer. mad.gif

So, no one has accualy taken a close look at it yet? too see if rust is hidden by the paint or if the front has been hit?

it's sounds like a decent start, but i would like to see the words COMPLETE somewhere.

He is buried out in the middle of Texas. I was thinking about having Britain (our red 912 guy) go look at the car. The car is about an hour south of Austin, Texas (where Britain is about to leave)

So.. if you want a person to see the car... say something now before our BBS member leaves the Austin area (permantly.. he is finishing his Masters degree this week) clap56.gif

He's not the only 914club guy in Austin ... If someone is seriously interested in the car I could probably make the trip in the near future...

Posted by: Brad Roberts Jun 4 2003, 12:20 PM

Ha ha.. true.. I cant keep track of everybody.

I'm betting we could get some gas money/food money for you to take a peek at it.

I don't need much incentive to go look at 914's, but couldn't hurt tongue.gif

Where is the car exactly? in San Antonio? I could only go on a weekend as I have to work during the week (still trying to get around that) ... but outside of that I wouldn't have a problem taking a look at the car and snaping a few pics while I am at it...

Lemme know,

Tony

I would be interested in funding a looksee at the car! If you woud make the trip i'll throw $25-$30 bucks in to cover gas and lunch! I am most courious about rust and if and where the car has been hit! It is hard to tell in the pictures but the front looks bent behind where the spair tire sits!
