Thanks. We didn't really launch the website, per se. We have been working on getting the first issue of the magazine out. But, I think with Amelia this week and Eric and Jamie's trip, this is a great week to "launch" it. The first issue of the print magazine will be out the first week of April. We got behind with its design, and then I decided that Amelia Island is such an important event for the 914, that we really need to wait and put it in this first issue. Maybe Ferry's car will be on the cover. We will see.

I believe the Kickstarter goal was met.
You can always "pitch in" by telling someone about their trip. The more attention, the better for the 914. :-)

Thanks for the updates on Eric's adventure. I will be following every day.
Good luck with the new rag. I can't wait to get my hands on the premier issue.

Just got back home from dinner about 30 minutes ago.
Dinner was great! We had 21 people and 7 914s show up (Including Eric's).
The intrepid adventurers were in good spirits, the 914 is running fine, but the chase vehicle took a rock to the windshield.
Everyone had a good time.
We send them off to NOLA in the morning.

Suppose it could just drip out the drain hole under the tank?

That's not what i meant. The iPhone/iPad doesn't know shit about pictures posted on this site.
It does, however, auto-rotate images for you that you took on the phone, when you view them on the phone.
So you never know you took them upside down until you put them somewhere *other* than your phone. Smart phone my ass ...

Posted by: Eric_Shea Mar 13 2015, 04:55 PM
On the highway runs we got 23.4 mpg. 17 for city driving.
Here's a list of the maintence items along the way:
Last fuel stop in New Mexico - removed the crappy fuel pressure regulator from the circuit. Above 95 (on the track) it began emptying the float bowls. Swapped a few lines. Problem solved.
In Louisiana, we hit rain. Lots of it. The wipers worked fine and, the intermittent relay and 924 switch got a workout. However, the wipers were jumpy. - in New Orleans we tightened the large 22mm nuts on the linkage.
Leaks - the drivers window (because I changed those top seals before... I wasn't that interested in changing them again). I have two new seals at the shop that I should have installed. Water got in during a downpour while we were dining in New Orleans. Water got in the rear trunk too via the tail light housings. Those seals were new. Water also got in the left tail light housing. That lens and seal was new too. The big one was last night in a very heavy downpour, I lifted the rear lid to get my suitcase out and it dumped a sheet of water on the air cleaner housing (thankfully using a stock housing for this trip). It appears water was directed around the edge of the top where the clips hold on and then it drained past the base seals and stood in the base. This allowed water/warner to suck directly into the air correction jets and emulsion tubes. It runs much better when that doesn't happen btw.
We took some time to tune the carbs for this elevation after that and... We're good to go. Fuel cost was roughly $45-65.00 per day. So basically "nothing but gas".
