I just signed up to do the Snowball Rally
http://www.thesnowballrally.com
Looks like a fun weekend of driving and old cars--assuming mine runs for the duration!
Any other teeners thinking about doing the run?
I have thought about doing this. Looks like an eclectic group has run in the past and had tons of fun. Car is not quite ready this year but please share you experiences here. Looking forward to your updates!
Jeff Keyzer usually does as a co-driver in a P1800.
if that was closer I would do it in a moments notice....sound fun.

Too close to the date of the West Coast Ramble. I'm still trying to get my car off jack stands.

Echo... Echo... Echo...
Let us know how it was. I saw on FaceBook that Jeff drove his Sunbeam Alpine down from WA this year. Looks like fun.
I always think about it, but know the year I commit, a huge spring storm will roll in an it will actually snow. That's what I've been telling myself for the last five years at least. I've been running the MotherLode 400 which is another great Nor Cal based rally and includes a lot of the same cars.
Hey Teeners,
I just did the Snowball Rally last weekend. I have never done an organized drive like this and I had an absolute blast. Amazing roads. Super cool cars. Really nice car people. I didn't know that there was a vacation where you just drove around beautiful places and talked about cars 24/7.
There was one other 914 on the trip--a blue 6 cylinder with gold cosmic alloys (bitchin' wheels, btw). But I did not run into the owner.
Mark; there was a blue sunbeam alpine (I thought you meant Renault on Instagram--because that was what was in the pic). I saw them fixing a "tightening valve" in the parking lot. And I have a nice video passing them.
I'm trying to post pics, but they keep getting rejected.
You can see more on my instagram account--my handle is Phenomanen.
Goldie purred like a kitten the whole way, but was pretty out of breath on the big climbs. It was super fun chasing the 911s in the Feather River Canyon--holding my own in the twisties and getting dusted in the straights.

Here's me and UK Dave's Alpine. God, I love this car.

Chris and Jeff's Datsun was rallied out to the max.

This Celica was sweet. They hit a rock in the water crossing and I did not see them the second day.

the patina mobile...they managed to stuff it in a snowbank, though there was also a rumor that it was staged.
Either way it was cool.

these guys hit a rock on the dirt stage--and holed their sump. They gooped it up with epoxy putty and made it through the second day! Good onya!

As I passed this Minor, I noticed oil spewing out of the bottom of the engine. When I asked the owner about it he said "yeah, it does that."
Okay!
