Okay so anyone who was following the Route 66 thread. Know I got stuck in a rain storm. Coming around a corner just outside of Oakridge. I hit standing water on the road. Car spun & I ended up sliding into the guard rail on the opposite side of the road backwords. Absolutely sucked but I was very lucky nobody was coming the other way. Could have been so much worse. I wasn't hurt in any way other than my pride. Seeing my car damage after only having it back a month from my fire. I have no words to explain it other than it Fuching sucks
So moving on here are pics of the carnage the day of. There is also 2 creases/dents in my front flare. The extra chassis stiffening helped a lot. The brace from the front of the suspension ear. To my firewall I think kept the damage from being much worse. The way my rear wheel caught the guard rail lip pressed directly on that brace I believe. Because of this the trailing arm buckled. I am glad that I did not do the trailing arm reinforcement. I have heard conflicting things on it. I know see why in my opinion it shouldn't be done. If your trailing arm bends it is much better than your car bending or breaking. Trailing arms are pretty easy to replace. Ripped suspension ear or other frame damage not so much. I'll add pics of my car on the rack today in the next post

Wow! You have had a run of bad luck for sure
Did the trailing arm bend without damaging the suspension mounts? Or is it too soon to tell?
Elliot
Sorry to hear of it/see it.
But it is STILL a very, very nice car.
Ouch! Glad you're OK AS THAT's the most important thing.
I think the trailing arms were designed to bend before affecting the mounts. Hopefully the car can be repaired without too many hassles.
Hi Jaime, Thank God you're okay! Sorry, I didn't even ask you about it last saturday the 1st time we have met. I'm sure you will be able to fix your car before WCR. Thanks also, because when both of us (with your son) got lost from from the group, after making a you turn from 10 East to 10 West then back to 10 East, you forced me to catch up with your hybrid by running my 1.8FI between 80 to 90mph speed on traffic with various big rigs along our way. Next time let me drive your car before making me catch up with you on your hybrid. Hehehe
Hope to see you when we visited my wife twin sister and family in Portland.
Take care and God Bless!
So sad to see, I love your car! Best of luck to you!
Dude! It's a shame. So rotten was the deed that you are excused from adding this to the Flatbed Thread. Seriously though, I'm proud of you. You "Manned Up" when 99.9% of us would have packed it in. You brought your son and made sure you both got to enjoy the event. Your a bigger man than I, Jamie.
*****NOTE****** Jamie needs a trailing arm. Who amongst us has one that he can donate to Jamie's car?
I'll pm him, I have a set he can have.
Glad you didn't get hurt, and as you said, if someone was coming the other way it could have been MUCH worse!
BTW, what engine and transaxle is that????
Jamie, Sorry to hear about your misfortune, Let me know if you need any help, have welder will travel.
Glad there were no injuries and hopefully your car is back and running very soon. Sucks but they can make it right.
I whole wholeheartedly agree about the trailing arm reinforcements Jamie- I had a friend spin his 914 racecar at the track and hit a retaining wall sideways (very similar to yours)..between the soft Mahle wheels giving way, along with the trailing arm- the damage was minimal.
Glad you are OK- I'm sure the car will be back soon and as good as new!
Andrew
This hurts to see !
NOOOOOOO!!!! After all that work.
Sorry to see this happen to such a pretty car.
You would think Oregon drivers could drive in the rain a little better
I got a 71 tub with a completish suspension if you need parts or whatever off of. Been looking for an excuse to drive down to Corvalis for while now.
Super glad no one was hurt. Hope you have a speedy patchup and get back on the road asap.
Glad you are okay fix it quick only 28 days to WCR.
Glad you are okay! Sorry about the car, but sliding across the opposite lane of traffic in these cars is dangerous! I know, as I was as lucky as you were that no bigrigs were coming along at that time. Wishing your car a speedy recovery!
I have an extra trailing arm for free. Will take picts when I'm home next. I also have an extra set of CFR dog ear reinforcements, free again. Anything else you need just post.
Rob
WOW
Been preoccupied so I hadnt seen this.
Sorry to hear but im glad you & your son were ok.
I had something similar happen to me while driving my (then) wife's Audi S6...
not a guardrail but a center jersey barrier ...Totaled.
If you need parts just LMK, Since Hines is "commuting" back & forth to Tooele
perhaps we can persuade him to make a detour.
Glad you were not hurt.
Love the personlized plate!
1st the fire & now this? I'd consider finding a priest someplace & have her exorcized.
Glad you're well & hope you get her back on the road soon.
Glad you came out OK. My favorite green car Got a boo Boo!!!. Never is it a good idea to run reinforced trailing arms on the street, your car shows a perfect reason why not to. If all that energy would have went into the tube your list of damages would be allot longer.
We do hope you can make it to WCR? In another can maybe?
Cant have a party without Jamie in the house.
Damn I wish I saw this before to today. I drove down to vancover/Portland today and I could have brought it down this far.
I go between PDX and MFR weekly, so if you need me to take anything I can fit in my car let me know. I can also use the truck if need be.
Mark
Good Luck, my Brother from a different Mother
Bummer deal! I'm not going to WCR either. Too far for me. Maybe we'll see you and your car fixed next year?
Glad to hear that the damage appears to be confined to the arm.
Looks like I'm going to WCR, if you want a ride down you're welcome to sit shotgun. Only catch is, I may have to go a day early and I'll be sleeping in the back of my truck...
After much deliberation. I am going to pick up my car from the shop tomorrow. I am tired of waiting on someone else. If it takes 7 months to get my car done. I want it to be because I am going slow & methodical. Not because it is waiting behind other people's cars & schedule's. Plus I want more of a hand in the actual fix. As nice as it was to have it done after my fire. I didn't do jack to fix it. Not to mention it cost so much more to have done. Anyway for better or worse I am going to get my car & start fixing it myself. Good news is I should make it to WCR with it driveable. It won't be finished by any means. I don't have a chance to make WCR if I leave it to someone else. Just isn't going to happen & probably end up being another 6 month ordeal waiting for my car.
So time to get out my metal work book Rick hooked me up with years back. Then get to fixing my flares.
WCR build party!
I'll bring a hammer and a rattle can...
driver like ya stole ER!
Jamie, sorry to hear about the crash! As bad as it is at least it's fixable and your around to tell the story, like you said it could of been a lot worse! Glad your going to work on it yourself, you'll be ok and a chance to build a stronger bond with your car! ....Beautiful car. If I can help give me a call, Roy in Eugene.
I like your decision!
I don't have the wheel bumper unfortunately. But if I an provide something pm me
Wow, sorry to hear about this Jamie. As said, at least you came out uninjured. It happened to me when I was a youngster in Eugene, driving fast around corners in the rain on Lorraine highway. I learned to slow down, especially in the rain.
Drove over to Bend this morning to pick up my car. Borrowed a trailing arm from my v8 car so I could actually roll it on the trailer. Don't worry Jim it will be back on by monday.
Jonathan was very cool & had my car on the lift already pulling my old trailing arm. So we just threw the loaner on there. Put my spare 6" fuch on there. The trailing arm looks to me to be in the right position. I'll have to do some measuring to be sure. No problems on the way home
Attached thumbnail(s)
Okay so here are some pics. 1st of the trailing arm that buckled. Next is the damage to the front flare. The larger long crease near the top & the smaller one towards the door. After that we move to the back & the real damage. The rear corner is obviously bent in & down a bit. There are no crease or buckles on the inner fender in the heel well or in the trunk. Where the bigger dent is on the flare is where it buckles down just a bit.
My plan is to slowly press the rear corner back out to where it should be. I think my port-a-power from a solid spot should get that okay. Once that is out & close I will start to work on the dents. Although I may work those a little as I am pushing the rear out. I will still have the finish work done by a pro. My plan is to get it better so I can make WCR this month. I got back home with my car today to find my new trailing arm in a box on my deck. Huge thanks to Dave for getting that out to me. I'll be cleaning it up & prepping it for powder coat. Then replacing the bearing & races for the stub axle. I'll see if the roller bearing setup McMark installed for my in the front of the trailing arm is okay. If so I will transfer that from my bent one.
Anyway more to come. I will be pulling my suspension front & rear. Well not the drivers rear. No problem there. I am pulling the from too as I have turbo tie rods to install as well as give me more room to work ont he passenger front flare.

Save the trailing arm.....make a cool trophy for the next one!
Glad you are planning on going.
If I had a hand full of tools I would bump that for you at the WCR.
Port-o-power set, some scrap 2x4 pieces, assorted hammer and dolly's, grinder to remove some paint, shrinking disk, some bomb can primer to get you home...
Oh! and my bulls eye picks.
I'll bring my shrinking setup to WCR, as well as my body hammer collection.
Jamie, if Mark is going down your way, maybe I can give him the Fuchs wheels to bring down with him.
Craig at CAMP
Do you need a rear trailing, also?
Craig at CAMP
Just read thrugh you already have one, good for you!
Craig at CAMP
did the mis-hap happen on ore state hwys 126 or 58?
I'm trailering mine down and will have a good assortment of tools including a floor jack & jackstands. Let me know if you need me to bring anything specific.
A bunch of drunk guys in a motel parking lot drinking and doing body work......what could possibly go wrong....
Who's bringing the paint booth?
rest stop Idaho 2009

it buffed out ....really just hiding grey primer from reducing the huge power antenna hole..back to stock....
Wouldnt be the first time Jamie brought his Teener for some collective love!
he redesigned and installed a radiator at wcc too
that's a RoadGlue Pic. I believe he left the shutter open.

dont forget Troy doing a Bumper backdate in the lot at the Portland WCR
Haha! you didn't move!!!
Up in the lift seems litke my passenger door does have a little larger door gap . Either way at WCR I will find out for sure if I need a Cellete pull after all. Think I will be towing it down just in case. Then if I need to drop it at Original Customs. I still have a way home
Didn't get much time this weekend to do much to my car. I did make a trip up to Camp914 to pick up a pair of Replica 8x16 Fuchs. On the way back hit Harbor freight to buy a new port-a-power. Had one a while ago but it died . I also picked up my new used trailing arm from my buddy Brent. Dave sent me the trailing arm with a reinforcement plate on it. Wasn't quite finished by the PO so Brent offered to finish it off for me. Thanks bud
So tonight I spent a little while with a wire wheel & some sandpaper. Put a prime coat on & let it dry. Added another coat of prime & let it dry. Did a little sanding with some 150 grit. Sprayed on some black & it's out drying now. Left it under a light to help dry. Going to go flip it over in an hour to spray the other side. Then it will sit overnight. I'll add another coat tomorrow after work.
You're running out of time... tick, tock...
WCR is 16 days away...
This is only half a hijack. I wanted to keep all the carnage together.
Jamie was not the only one to damage their 914 on the way to Palm Springs for the Rt 66 Classic. My transmission started making some unhappy noises on the way to the event. Mine is also now being repaired for the upcoming West Coast Classic.
Transmission out.
Transmission apart.
This bearing could be the problem.
The ring and pinion also show some damage.
One of the plates is scorched from being overheated.
Yowser John . Glad you made it back home without more problems. See you in 2 weeks bud. At least you can slum it in the Cayman if it isn't ready
Elvira is out of surgery and will be ready to go after a good bath.
Jamie, If you need any help from me at WCR I'd be glad to help! Ricks a better bodyman than me by a longshot so I wont stand in the way of that.
Waiting for a replacement roller bearing for the one that was dinged up. Should be here today and everything on its way to Jamie today.

Packing a few of my favorite tools to ship to McMark tonight.
That is totally cool of you guys... well done brothers... well done
Yeah the 914 community is the best! I've got parts coming in this week galore. Kinda last minute but what would WCR be like without the last minute fixes. I'll get some pics up as I did get that back corner pushed back close to the right place. Still not perfect by any means. I think it is still destined for some shop time & a Cellete . My door gap on the passenger side is a little bigger . I do have it on the lift but with the longitude stiffening kit on it. It shouldn't flex I wouldn't think with the top on. I'll do what I can do for now. Then makes some decisions after Rick & all the guys smarter than me get a look .
Did you get my bumper yet?
Go Jamie, go.
Okay I think I have most of my parts. I've got some nice zinc plated strut top mounts on the way from Bruce. If they don't make it in time not a huge deal as I can use the ones I have. Just won't look as good. LOL! I've got a busy weekend ahead of me
Okay so on tools I am bringing misc hammers. Along with my harbor freight hammer/dolly set. My new HF Porta power. My grinder with different wheels & sandpaper. I know Ricks was bringing out some favorites as well as some other people. I know we needed a shrinking disc which I don't have but don't mind buying. So to those coming who have some of this stuff please feel free to bring it along if you have space.
I'll bring my hands and opinions
If Mark is bringing his hammers and shrinking disks and you have a HF hammer dolly set (Same one I use) and portapower, and grinders, it should be everything you need! I'll see if I Have a long metal rulers we can use as a straight edge. I thought I had one by my desk...
Just came from the UPS store. Box of tools heading for Original Customs. Delivery date is next Tuesday. Mark and I discussed Thursday night in the parking lot.
Actually......some stiff hardboard or light sheet metal for a trace template isn't a bad idea. I sure Mark has some tracing board.
Jeez...sounds like you have some of the best hands and minds there Jaime....!
I.ll just watch...no opinions.
I picked up some synergy green paint today. Ordered a pint & had them put in the 3 aerosol cans. It's just single stage but just got it for a temporary. I forgot to grab primer at the same time. I'll pick some up though.
I also had my trailing arm arrive from Original Customs. Thanks Mark
Suspension goes on in the morning
We'll need some glaze and sandpaper if were going to actually spray
I'll see if I have any left over from my dads paint job.
Awesome stuff! Hope someone there takes lots of pictures and video on the fix it date! Should be a sub - feature on the 914 experience video
I live in SLO (about 50 miles from San Simeon). I plan to attend WCR, but to head home each evening (or sleep in my Eurovan if necessary!). You're welcome to use my driveway & garage for any work on your car -- I've got a big air compressor, shrinking disc, grinders, spray rig for primer, fridge for beer, etc. You're welcome to ship any specialty tools to my home if that makes it easier than lugging 'em to the Central Coast.
Geoff
I plan to head down from Ukiah on Wednesday in my truck if you (or anyone) needs any thing brought from North Ca. or points between just say so as plenty of room!
Where else could you find this kind of support for making repairs on the 'fly" and in a parking lot?
This thread is the "shining example" of why I belong to the 914 Group. The support, information, sharing, and concern for other members is truly reflected here. The skill of fellow members are reflected here and they are willing to share with other members.
Glad to see Jaime and his car are going to WCR after incurring "a major hickup" along the way. If there is a fighting chance, it appears members are not going to let a problem such as repairing a car in a parking lot hold them back. It does send shivers up and down my "old back".
Do not let Andyrew stand around, make him work! LOL!
Steve Hurt
Assembled my front struts. Unfortunately with my old struts as me new adjustables didn't come with the right gland nut. New struts use a different one as they are a little wider at the top than my old struts. Oh well they are ready to bolt in my car. Was going to today but had a mid day date with the wife that stretched about 3 hours longer than I planned. Came home with a headache so am just called it a night rather than going back out to the shop.
I also got the trailing arm installed (thanks Mark@Original Customs). Just need to install the front struts & bleed the brakes. I'll have that wrapped up tomorrow afternoon. Have an appt tuesday for an alignment. I'll post some pics tomorrow
Attached thumbnail(s)
Okay I did make progress. Suspension is all back on. Had a wrinkle with a bad brake line. Luckily I had a car here to pull it from. Got that swapped & just need to bleed my brakes. Then put wheels on & it's as ready as it is getting. I need to go get more brake fluid. So tomorrow night I'll get them bled & take it for a quick spin. Dropping it off tuesday morning for an alignment.
Attached thumbnail(s)
I am so happy to see this getting right back on the road.
Okay so everything is on. Spent some time bleeding the brakes tonight. Doing it old school way with my kid pumping the brakes. Not as firm as I'd like. I've got an appointment tomorrow morning to get it aligned. Going to see if they can bleed the brakes for me too. Took a very quick drive. Did not spend much time trying to align the front end with the new turbo tie rods. They are toe'd out just a bit. I'll drive it to the car shop in the morning. They will get it all squared away for me. Car is running fine at least. If I can just get people to look at the drivers side only All is well
Great job!
Dam drivers side rear caliper bleeder is stripped. I noticed when I was bleeding it & swapped another bleeder in. Was hoping it was just the bleeder & not the actual caliper . SO the rear caliper won't close enough to keep from leaking. I'm dropping my spare off at local shop for a rebuild today. I have the rebuild kit & they said they could work it in. Minor hiccup but annoying with it being so close. Oh well we all need stress in our lives right
There are larger bleeder screws arent there? Cant you drill and tap it out?
Go Jamie! I'm sure you can fix that brake!
Yeah dropped the caliper at the local VW place. Hoping he can squeeze it in this afternoon still. If not it will be tomorrow morning. So hopefully I'll be bleeding it tonight. If not more of a rush tomorrow to get it done. Luckily I've had plenty of practice the last couple days . So should go pretty quick. Keep your fingers crossed they get that done today.
Although the tire shop managed to make the bleeder worse. Had no pedal when I went by to get it. So I've got to flat to it home.
You got some really big balls doing all this work right before WCR. I understand the rear suspension but jeez...
Well, we can always fix it when you get down here...
Looks like the repair is moving along well.... great job!
There will be jack stands available. You can finish the brakes while Mark and I bump your dents.
I've got my car home. Will throw it back on the lift in a couple hours. Unfortunately still have some running around to do for work. Looks like another late night with my car. The local VW shop thankfully got my extra caliper rebuilt. So I will put it on tonight & get the brakes bled. Assuming I don't fuch anything up tonight I'll be good to go
Freakin awesome effort.
And I was worried about my car....jeez.
Okay I've got brakes! I am going to put my tires back on tomorrow after work. Put the flat tow kit on. Not even going to power my car back up. Just going to leave before I find something else wrong . So I'll be loading up my tow van with everything under the sun after work tomorrow. Still planning on just hitting the road early thursday morning. Or I may throw a mattress in the back of the van & leave wednesday night. All depends how tired I am tomorrow night & how early I am packed
Safe Travels...
I ended up putting my new adjustable strut inserts in last night before I hit the road too. Got the proper gland nut from Paragon just in time. Left them on full soft up front for now. Car is towing nicely. Hopefully I remembered all the right tools. I did forget to bring misc pieces of wood
Full soft? Ext adj ext Koni? Check the installation instructions. Iirc FULL soft or hard is not recommended.
get to work, slackers!
JRust where did you take it to get aligned and what specs did you adjust to? I've heard the factory numbers were done so oversteer wouldn't occur and other setups are better for driving. I'm not sure if Schwabs could do my alignment or if I need to take it to a special shop also.
Back front he great work at WCR. Did get the little welding that was needed done. My friend Brent from Salem came down to weld it up for me. Didn't take to long to fix the small tear in the bottom corner. As well as the small crack 1/2 crack in the flare weld. Need to prime, do a coat of glaze & block away. I was screwing around with a smooth top. I bought some synergy green put in aerosol cans. It was single stage while my paint is base & clear. Didn't cost much & I figured if I had to wait for a bit on paint. I could use it temporarily. Doubt I will waste time doing the paint thing. It will go to a shop once I have it ready for paint. I painted a metal cutout I had with the single stage I have. Isn't a great match which is no surprise. It is a little darker than my car.
Attached thumbnail(s)
Let the top sit out in the sun for a couple of weeks … it'll fade a little bit
Hey that cutout is totally cool
Hard to get a proper color directly over the metal with no base primer
I did do a prime coat on it before painting my cutout. It was a quick job admittedly but I did give it a day to dry before painting. I will be sanding my cutout down & doing a proper job on it. That cutout has been sitting on my shelf for years. About time I put it to use. So it will get painted & hung in my shop. My paint job was a little uneven too. Couple darker spots than the rest. Good practice anyway
Definitely good practice on laying it down. The problem with paint matching is that you can't. Well, you can get close, and then you can blend the panel. But that takes a bit more skill. And laying down a metallic evenly takes skill as well. Practice enough and you'll be able to get it done. It's not magic, just takes practice and trial-and-error.
I've heard mention of inherent magnetism in the panels being a factor in metallic paints. Someone mentioned grounding the car while they sprayed metallic to make sure the charge in the car was relieved.
^I've heard about grounding as well.
Here is an interesting video. One thing he noted was to spray the last coat light so the flakes can stand up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efVr_JsIclQ
Finally got around to adding some filler to the rear flare. Note to self. Don't go to thick on your coat. Spent a couple hours sanding today. Added a second coat but was much smarter & did a nice light coat. Going to be sore tomorrow after all that sanding though. Oh well it's a learning experience right. I'll post some pics tomorrow
What grit are you using to sand and what type of filler are you using right now?
I typically start with 80 or less, and I'll hit it really gently when its fresh and still hardening to knock off the main excess leaving 1/8 or so left to sand. Then I wait for it to fully harden and go 80 till its about right and 120 or up to whatever step of filler I am at.
If your at the glaze point, double the grits I just said.
Well there is your typical body filler like Bondo. There is thinner stuff like Featherfill which has smaller particles and less pinholes (I use this exclusively) then there is glazing compound.
My bad, I used my terms wrong....
http://www.tcpglobal.com/UPO-745.html#.VWLGqkap2-4
This is what I meant when I said featherfill, ... Basically its super lightweight smooth filler. Like I said you can thin it down with acetone and use it as a glaze if you dont have very many pinholes or your bodywork is fairly close and you dont want to spend $30 bucks on glaze (Or you run out). I typically mix this and glaze to get to the consistency I need one a specific spot... But its probably redundant at that point most times.
Actual "Featherfill" is thick primer used for adding to low spots (And shouldnt be shot in less than a 1.8 tip) You should be using this after the glazing compound, then guide coat, sand, and use this again for low spots. There are many different types of primer filler(And most can be used as a primer sealer)...
The last guy on the left is Lennie, which is appropriate that shown ghosted. Never see him on the world anymore.
Dave
Okay here is after a few hours today. Couple skim coats/ sanding & a quick prime coat. Pics are just after prime coat so is a little wet. Probably won't show much detail but is coming along nicely. Think I am ready for the real prime & glaze action. Then fine sanding out the glaze. Definately some skill needed for this. Nothing like learning as you go though
Attached thumbnail(s)
Looks good, try and throw some more prime coats on as filler once you get to guide coat step.
Looking good! Can't even tell it was damaged.
Back at it last night & today. Man this is time consuming. Thought I was pretty close but need to get it blended a little better. The bottom rear of the flare needs some more filler to be smooth. I just need a little more on the actual bottom corner. Then I need one coat of filler on the front flare. It will take the least amount of work. It's just the transition from what we ground off that needs to be blended a bit. I'll post some more pics tonight. Wish me luck
Okay didn't get to much farther this weekend. As usual to many things came up that kept me from the shop . Front fender just needs a little more filler on the bottom. The top edge blended great.
The rear quarter I seem to be chasing my tail a bit. It's close but again the bottom corner needs more filler & sanding. It really takes time to get that area blended right. The transition from the flare has been tricky. I am close but still not quite there . I hope to get an hour out there tonight
Attached thumbnail(s)
Looks good! I like to guide coat/primer it a couple times just to make sure, especially on the smaller jobs.
I think when I was doing the final shape of my flares I hit them with primer 5x a side..
Take your time and you'll thank yourself later.
Besides this is the fun/easy part. Are you planning on spraying the fenders?
If your buddy has a booth chances are he could spray?
Nice progress.
Cable shifters that I was talking about.
1G Mitsubishi Eclipse 1st gen left. 3000GT/Stealth right.
Eclipse - 6" wide
2 1/2" shorter
$26 short shifter on ebay
~ 5 ft cables
3000gt - 7" wide
13" tall
$65 short shifter on ebay
~ 5 ft cables
The 3/S stick will fit on the 1G. Lever ratios are the same. Mounting base is flat. Solid bushings are available. Standard asian knob threads.
The only drawback besides the large mounting bases is the stick leans forward, but can be cut and rewelded.
The Eclipse 2G and 3G are not well liked. The 4G resembles the Boxster.
I got my custom cable finally. Installed it tonight. Going to do another prime coat on the passenger side tomorrow. Then throw the rear bumper on. I may just drive it to work on wednesday. Been to damn long
So after installing my new fore aft cable that broke at WCR. I had failed to zip tie my clutch cable with the rest. It melted on my header & snapped. So I ordered another cable & installed it tonight. Took it for a quick drive down the road. All went well so I took it into town to get an ice cream cone to celebrate. Car got over 200 in town while I was sitting in the DQ drive through. My radiator fans didn't kick on like they are supposed to. Hit 210 before I got it back on the road & it cooled right down. So I need to see why my fans aren't working. Still was great to drive my car again. Shifting was nice & clutch felt great too. So all that is adjusted right.
Yeah all cables are definitely zip tied so that won't happen again. Definitely good to drive it again. Been way to long
Awesome!
I'm glad that you got your Baby back and proud of you for hanging tough while the 914 Gods crapped on you.
Okay just made my appointment to get my passenger side painted. I'll be dropping it off on the 24th. He'll have it 2 weeks so it will be back to tip top shape for RRC next month
Nice - It will be nice to see all done again and looking sharp.
Looks good! Is he painting the entire pass side? or is he tapering it out to match?
Glad to see it is getting back to finished again but,,,,,, I have a new mantra for you,
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
I WILL NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
Hey, great to see the repair work nearly done!!!!
Driving in the 'wet' should be no problem. Driving 'FAST' in the wet is more problematic.
Car is going in tomorrow for paint. Pulled the bumper, lights & trim from passenger side. Dropping it off in the morning on my way to work. Flat towing it there of course.
Looking forward to seeing it done. Beautiful car!
Damn dropped it off & forgot to take pics. Oh well I've had enough pics of it not looking right. I'll wait to post the pics of it after its painted
Just got a picture from my painter! He just finished with the clear. Not sure when I'm picking it up yet. Just hoping the match is close enough it isn't obvious the one side was done. Won't know until later this week. Still good to see

"Looking good in the Hood" my man. Kent
You can always nominate the BB, Noel ...
Looking great, Jamie ... just keep it that way now ...
Looks great Jamie, great color and your perseverance is inspiring!
It'll be great Jamie. Don't worry about it. You can't look at both sides at the same time. Paint turned out SWEET! When's the turbo engine going in?????
It looks great Jamie!

Congrats. One of my favorite builds.
Look great man. Happy for ya getting her whole again.
Hey.... CONGRATS!!! Lookin' good!!
Way to get after it!
Got a little done tonight. Installed front bumper, Front turn signal bucket, Drivers door seals, outside door handle, door panel & interior parts. Been a long day so inside relaxing now. Tomorrow I'll get the rear bumper & tailight on. Then take it for a drive & take some pics. After that I'll start playing with my new center console. Or at least the first try. Think I'm going to make more adjustments & build another but probably not before Red Rocks. So sorry no more pics today
What console? Pic's? I just finished modifying mine to fit the AC? A cubby might have been easier.

Back on the road & basically finished. Just missing my front valance. Needs some fiberglass work for some cracks. So here are couple pics from today after an hour on the road. This can finally close this thread out. Repairs are done so I won't be posting in this thread for any of the other little things. Time to move on from this thread thankfully
Huge thanks to all those who helped me get past this . Those who helped with parts, With bodywork & just flicking me shit to keep my mind off the negative. This community is the best. Without you these pics may not have happened
