Calender is marked.
I'll be there
Lori and I will be there.
Have you considered a raffle for the O'baby naming rights?
We are in!
We all need to bring a case of Pampers too.
(For the baby. Joe will need them later.)
Joe,I find your avatar"Lesbians Taste Like Chicken" Very disrespectful.I bet some Transgender folks are on the board to..Lets treat everyone In the 914 World the same..
Thanks,Alan
Alan, I find your lack of humor & you having to be PC very disrespectful. If your life is so f'd up that you need to a comment like that, I feel sorry for you.
Thanks, T.C.
Joe, I'll be at TR-4
T.C.
I knew I would get blasted for my comment..My post wasn't supposed to be humorous or disrespectful at all.I just wonder how can someone put that under there avatar in today's world. As for my life being F'd up It is not..
Thanks,Alan
We had actually considered trying to go this year, but putting it the weekend immediately before Okteenerfest makes that impossible unfortunately.
Verena and I are in!
John
We are off to a good start here!
Alan, I thought you were joking about my avatar. Sorry you're upset, but I won't be changing it. I'm a big supporter of gay/equal rights and my gay friends think it's funny.
Now, moving on.....
I plan to attend! BVD_racer will likely joing me.
Ill be in Orlando at a trade show. Can I join you all for dinner one night?
Does anyone have any requests?
I like having the boat day. Do you?
Other stuff in the area you'd like to see included?
Okay, I'll take that silence as latitude to plan what I want...
Looks like I will not be able to make it - alternative plans, sorry
The boat party has always been fun, we like it!
Group dinner at a restaurant or group cook out at your shop, also fun.
Swap meet for people to bring parts.
An autocross would be cool but hard to arrange.
John
Brilliant! I bet we could make a great road course out of that airport and business park.
I would love an autocross. But if I remember from TR1, the airport wasn't really keen on it. No biggie.
That sounds like fun, but I agree that it might be hard to coordinate.
Oh didn't know it had been tried
I would still like to go, I sold the 914....maybe theres room for a mustang?
A parts sale would be good. And if you can't sell your parts you can just give them to Joe.
If I can't stop working on my minivan, my 914 will never be ready.
I'll have to miss this one Joe but I really want to go next year! Great part of the world with good people!
The AX is difficult, at best. This airport has had racing for years, but the city wants it gone, so they stopped fixing the pavement on that part of the airport and stopped giving new permits. Running an AX at a regular parking lot has become a prohibitive maze of insurance and expense, and that's if you can even get the owner to talk to you about it.
The problem I keep having putting on events, is that most people want to arrive late Friday and leave after breakfast on Sunday. It's tough to fit all the activities I would like to fit.
Just a quick bump to keep this near the top....
I'm very pleased to report that George Neill (The Painted Man) has volunteered to help with the TRIV.
This will take some load off of me and bring some fresh ideas to the table.
He has been tasked with maintaining this thread and keeping the discussion going.
Thanks George!

Hoping that the other usual suspects like Bill and Luz will chime in soon too.
For those of you haven't been there before, you should definitely plan to join us, at least for a day. Joe has turned Series9 into a really cool shop, obviously due to his own abilities, but in general, it's a fun place to hang out. The address is 1403 Flight Line Blvd Ste 10, Deland, FL 32724. Below is the link to the address on Google.

I'll try to dig up some pictures from TR1 and TR2, but if you guys have any, feel free to post them!
Yes I would like to go, to bad we cant hold it the folllowing weekend as the runoffs start Monday the 21st.
Put me down for a tentative. Not sure what I'll be driving...but, I would like to attend. Down to Florida for this and then to NC for Okteenerfest
Hey George,
Joe said he checked and it isn't going to rain that weekend. You OK with this?
75 days till TRIV!
Here's a few (admittedly not the best) pictures I dug up from the last one. I've got some video here too somewhere I'll dig up.
KENNY, you coming this year?
James?
Do we had an updated attendee list? Also, any hotels with discounts?

Let me know if I missed anyone.
There are a couple of hotels around the airport. Just google the "Deland airport hotels" and they should come up.
im going to try i will know closer to the time i may just stop by at nite and hang out like last time. both my 914s are down
So I'll add VRROOMM1 (sorry, I don't recall your name, even thought I met you at TR2) as a potential "maybe". Bill and Luz won't be there unfortunately due to prior plans, but maybe next year! We'll definitely miss them.
its Doug, Joe but thats ok i foregive a Oingo fan. i will come out one nite to hang. i have some realy nice 75 seat covers if any one is intrested in them i can take bring them. see you soon.
sorry George did not see who posted.
43 days till TRIV!
Bill - I'm sorry I missed your post re: hotels. I'll work on getting a more comprehensive list of hotels and maybe make some calls for discounts. There isn't a whole lot going on in DeLand that weekend, so I wouldn't imagine that they'll be charging an arm and a leg, but it never hurts to ask!

Here are some preliminary options for lodging. I'm working with Joe to see what his recommendations are, but all of these hotels are within 5 miles of Series 9 and have good reviews on Google. The Bed and Breakfast sounds particularly good to me, but I need to call to get pricing. If we have some idea of where most of you would like to stay/what your budget is, I'll work on getting a discount at that particular hotel.
Comfort Inn - $89/night
400 E International Speedway Blvd
DeLand, FL 32724
Artisan Downtown - $150/night
215 S Woodland Blvd
DeLand, FL 32720
Hampton Inn & Suites Deland - $93/night
20 Summit Oak Place
DeLand, FL 32720
Deland Country Inn Bed & Breakfast -$$??
228 W Howry Ave
DeLand, FL 32720
I have not heard from anyone regarding their lodging choices, so I haven't called anywhere to get a discount. Would be nice to know what kind of amenities, or price range you guys want so I can limit the amount of begging I need to do with the hotels
Ill be in Orlando at Surf Expo. I plan on leaving the my trade show early to go to the Ramble.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that Ill be sleeping in Orlando.
Hampton Inn works for me!
It's time to pony up!
$75 this year.

If you want a T-shirt, the payment deadline is August 30th.
Speaking with Joe, the itinerary is the usual. People will trickle in on Friday and if there's enough interest, we'll head out on the boat to the spoil island. The remainder of the evening will be a Q&A (pestering) with Joe and meet and greet the gang. Saturday morning is usually a coffee and perusing of each other's cars. Sautrday afternoon we do our drive out to A1-A and Joe's favorite restaurant on the beach. Saturday evening, relax, have a few drinks, play some music (I'll bring a couple instruments) and then dinner.
I contacted the Comfort Inn - rooms are a little scarce for the weekend due to a baseball tournament in town. But currently they have 6 King Single rooms available for $84.60 for both Friday and Saturday night. There are a few King Suite rooms and Double Queen rooms for a little more - $89/night. To lock those prices in though, I need some confirmation from folks. Joe also said that camping at the shop/airport is available for those who chose that route, but space is limited.
I'm in for Friday and Saturday . Sent PayPal. Extra large shirt.
Bob V.
I'll have to miss this year...again.
My youngest son (who is in the USMC stationed in Okinawa) is coming in for two weeks next week. He just got approved for a short leave. I haven't seen him since December 2013...so, his visit takes priority! I hate missing the TR; however, I am very excited to see my son!
Large please. PayPal send
Paypal sent. XL for me, L for Verena.
We will probably arrive lunch time on Friday and have to head home lunch on sunday.
John
Won't be able to make it. We're closing on our house at the end of Sept so I'll be in full moving mode that weekend.
Lori and I were really looking forward to the ramble this year but can't make it either. I've been working every weekend for a while and will have to through September. Hope everyone has a great time!
Payment sent. Medium for me
planning on Friday or Saturday arrival, depends on friend. Sent check plus an email. Looking forward to meeting all you guys and girls.
Steve
There will probably be some extra T-shirts from TR IV. After the event, I will put any extras up for sale here for $25 delivered.

I won't be able to spend the weekend, but I may be able to stop in on Saturday with my kids. My car is in pieces, anyway.
It looks like TRIV is going to be a relatively small affair, but fear not!
I may be able to plan something for Saturday that would be impossible with a big group.
Be sure to pack your swim clothes.
By this time tomorrow, there will be cold beer waiting...
Hey guys, We can't make it again this year. Was hoping to make it up. Anyway, say hi to my son Brian around the corner in Suite 8, Elemental Technologies. He's driven my Electric 914 several times. The car will be offered for sale later this year if anyone is interested.

Dang, forgot all about it until Tommy asked me if I was going last night, and I have some stuff to drop off for my "Six"
Any BVD sized shirts left? What time does it start?

When will we start seeing pictures?????
I'm sorry to put it this way, but if you haven't prepaid to attend and we are not expecting you at this point, please don't show up unannounced.
I had so many people back out, that I had to rearrange the finances and the schedule to accommodate the people who were kind enough to sign up on time and pay on time.
My car was not ready on time so I will go tomorrow in my truck. At what time in the morning should I be there.
Oil temp hit 240 on way home , sorry but not coming back today . Boat trip sounded cool.
Bob
Really sorry about not being able to make it this year everyone. Hope you guys are having a good time. I will support by buying shirt(s). Joe, let me know what you have.
Were is everybody. found them
I wanted to make it but only have two weekends left before chump car. Theres always something else to do. Have fun
Thanks for a GREAT event!
I have some good ideas about how we will proceed with future events.
Sandy and I really enjoyed meeting you all. It seemed like at first nothing was going to work out. We got a late stop, then missed the boat trip, then the car would not start, got to Series 9 and the car would not start. Went to dinner (excellent) came back car would not start. Car then started by Sandy due to her not mashing in the clutch and we got home this morning. I have to say a great group of guys and I will be there next year if the creek don't rise (rained all this weekend, LOL) and God wills. I met some interesting people and took a few photos. I will try to add them or email them to someone with more computer literacy. I was the oldest guy there and I even owned a 914 in 1973 which one told me I was an original 914 guy. Anyway looking forward to another event.
Steve
Looking forward to the pictures
Thanks for a great time guys and gals. Had a blast, despite the smaller crowd. Glad that Chad, Steve and I got some driving in. As Joe always says though, these things are less about the cars, and more about the people. What a great 914 family we have... I certainly needed it. Now good luck to Papa Joe and Jenny on welcoming Calusa into it!
Joe was able to take us on a boat trip to Silver Glen due to the smaller crowd this year. It was a 50 mile round trip from Deland along the Saint John's River through Lake George and up Silver Glen.
Attached thumbnail(s)
Stopped for lunch at the Blackwater Inn.
Silver Glen has a fresh water spring that is crystal clear and 72 degrees all year. It felt good on the 85 degree day. You can see 100 feet under water.
Eventually a big rain storm came through. The rain and the air were the same temperature so we did not feel cold at all.
It was a unique and fun trip. You should have been there.
John
There was no shortage of 914s or car talk.
Joe's shop is stuffed with interesting projects, including some original sixes.
This car has custom made flares and a rotary engine.
There was a 930 turbo and a Karman Gia project.
George brought the Chump Car, still running strong.
This parts car features a chalon kit, but it also has a 915 transmission and a built up 460 small block chevy with a $12K build sheet.
Joe called it the "Borg Car". It has lots of "interesting" modifications done in a hacked up fashion.
Joe is obviously keeping very busy!
Next year, rumor has it that George and I will be organizing the Ramble, once again based at Series9!
John
Looks like it was a lot of fun! Joe's shop is busy! Lots of crazy cool projects going on in there. Thanks for the pictures! I'm tentatively planning on driving out there for next year's Tropical Ramble ... will see. I'd like my car to return to where she was born for a visit, and I need to plan out a long trip sometime. Will see...
That would be killer Jon!
