914World.com _ 914World Garage _ heat exchangers repair

I have a set 6 heat exchangers that I will be patching, the weld will rust if I leave it without any treatment, What spray can I use to treat them that is not toxic. Can they be painted?

VHT header paint will work, but having them ceramic coated would hold up best. Please be sure to keep a carbon monoxide detector in the car as old heat exchangers can be scary. Porsche is once again having them reproduced, and though not cheap, they're probably the best way to go.
