WHL hockey!
Kelowna Rockets beating the Tri-city Americans 8-1 and setting a new home ice record of 20 straight on the local radio station. Who needs the NHL?? Gave my tickets to my Dad for tonights game as we were going to up at the ski hill for the weekend then my sons coach calls and they have a make-up game at 6 am tomorrow morning. sigh....left Mom and daughter at the condo and came home so the team doesnt have to be with out there a 9-year old defensemen. Incredible day at Big White today. Check out www.bigwhite.com Presidents Weekend filled up our pool and hot-tub with mericans from all over Wash and Oregon. They kept asking is it always this good?.... shhhh dont tell anyone..... its supposed to be a secret

yeah, the newer stuff sucks big time.
their shows were incredible in the '80s when they were still mixing hardcore with reggae,
but they don't play those old songs no more ...

Blair is into playing bass but not quite good enough for a band. My brother played the local scene in the '70's, lead guitar, early Glam rock.. My dad played guitar, sang, and lead a Big Band in the late '30's. In WW2 they found out (after we won) and put him back in charge of a Band to entertain the troops in Europe. He had it really rough, stationed in Paris, French GFs, traveling around playing to the GI's.
Love Ten, Hendrix of course, JA, but never was into euorpunk, just the local stuff like the Gits.
Kevin is the only guy I know who went to that concert at Greenlake (1969) and saw the Doors stink up the place and get booed off the stage.
Can anyone guess the second act that rocked the place? One of their first USA concerts for this little known groups.

I have 69 Gigs of MP3 files. I need to catalog them one of these days. I know there are a few dupes here and there but I have a lot of music. I can listen for weeks and never hear the same song.

Normally it would be Norah Jones or Sinatra or Queen or REM or Stan Getz or American Popular Song (Smithsonian) , etc., through a pair of Martin Logan Aeons driven with a Classe CAP 151 using a Classe CDP3.
I have my kids this week and they are listening to Green Day, instead, through the same system. And I am feeling the irony, since my parents didn't care for my music either.

Maroon 5, yes. But the more they're played on the radio, the fewer appearances they make in my CD player. I haven't enjoyed Franz Ferdinand enough to buy their CD. Although that might be a result of radio overplay as well.

Sunday mornings are Ch: 72 (Pure Jazz) on Sirius. There is a "Blue Note" program that is pretty great. After 12:00 I take it to the garage and start listening to the Old-School Rap station (Backspin). It's pretty sad that the songs I grew up listening to are now the 'Classic Rock' of Rap.
I found a bunch of old Black Flag and Dead Kennedys CDs that I listened to as a kid...Some of it is great, some of it is REAL CRAP!

What a segway... my wife's Brazilian so I'm afraid I would understand. Cape Verde Islands are Portuguese speaking I believe.

Right this second, it's Ace Frehley, from 1978.
I'm mostly a metal head, (80's / 90's metal, heavy-rock guitar oriented stuff, there's also some great stuff coming out of Europe like Stratovarious and Gamma Ray, a little Iron-Maidenesque), I'm just getting into that lately. A lot of Satriani, older Ynqwie 
, Paul Gilbert. I'm really ecletic, as I'll be listening to Helloween, and then jump to Johnny Cash, and then Mozart or something.
Oh yeah, old VH, and it took 10 minutes to download one of Mile's songs, and I wanna hear more!! Miles, I'd like to see some guitars you've built as well, you taleneted guy, you!
I'd also appreciate the 'sounds of a 914', if anyone wants to put together a CD of it cranking, grinding through the gears, and overreving. Seriously, somebody do that, I'll buy it!

Hey Eric,
Monique is Surinamese but speaks Dutch of course and taki taki which has Portuguese in it. She hasn't ever been to Brazil but its on our list of places to go. Too hard to cross a million miles of jungle but there is talk of building a road.
