914World.com _ 914World Garage _ My latest project. Sanding spare top smooth

Posted by: JRust May 7 2015, 09:05 PM

So finished sanding this smooth tonight. Then did a couple primer coats. I'll sand with some fine grit. Then spray with the single stage synergy green I got put in aerosol cans. Primer is drying now. I'll get back to it tomorrow for more sanding. Want this top super smooth

if you are using primer fillers, let it shrink for a few days before painting.

I painted my top also, I think the car looks better. with the black top and the black rockers and valances it looks too cut up

I did that once. It kept cackling for years through three repaintes. Finally took it to an industrial fiberglass manufacturer. It wasn't cheap. But they gel coated it to stop the crazing.
