Those of you who install the Rennshifter please post your experiences with it. If it improves shifting considerably, I'll have to overcome the CW in me and buy one myself.
I've ordered one. I'll post when I get it installed.

I have it installed and ran at the track with it. It feels real nice and greatly improves my shifting confidence. It feels like a gated shifter, no more moving the shift handle in circles trying to find a gear. However; you need to adjust it properly on the shift rod and you still need to have your bushings in good shape. I took it off at the track to work on my pedals and didn't get it adjusted right at first and had trouble finding third when coming down from 4th, kept catching 5th. I came in and we adjusted it and no more problems. So it's not a majic stick but a big improvement over the stock stick. I recommend it after you install new bushings. It will feel like a new car.
I installed James' rennshift in my car for before memorial day, 33% reduction,
It is awesome..
I have a 911 as well as a 914, in my 911 I have a Fabcar shifter (not for long)
Im going to put the Fabcar shifter on ebay and get another rennshift, this time fo my 911
oh yea the thing works really well!!!
ok, where does one find these things? sound great!
Korijo,
The seatcovers went out today USPS. I hope you enjoy them.

When I bought my 914 it had a weltmeister short shift installed, so I have never experienced a stock 914 shifter.
The shift throws with the rennshift installed are about 6 ins total..(meaning from third to fourth) etc. Of course I havent measured this.. its just what I think the measurements are.
And yes the gear selection is more precise. Additionally, the shifter always returns to center... i.e. the 2-3 shift plane
Thanks. I guess that's another upgrade I'll have to make.
