I was there for the F1 race in Aug 71. We were just past the grandstands and just before the 1st corner. F1 cars had daylight under the tires leaving the 1st corner.

I too, was there. Couldn't believe how fast Jackie Stewart was when he came around the corner and up the hill on the 1st lap.
