Was doing some cleaning underneath the car. While cleaning the rear suspension a small chunk of bushing fell out in my rag. I think you can see the damaged bushing in the pic. Is this an easy replacement? Would prefer to do it myself. Are these available oem or possibly 914 Rubber? Assume its not a problem to drive until I get to it.

You can drive it like that no problem. Worse case the sway bar pops out and just sits there.

Yeah, try it yourself. Its a bit of a chore to get them on the sway bar on one end and the shock post on the other but its definately do-able. And you'll be really pleased with the nice new, white bushings instead of the old hard, yellow ones. You can guess that the other three old ones are about to chip apart too.

I think I used silicon spray and also soapy water as lube to get them on. I think I used a good whack with a rubber hammer to get them on the shock post and a C-clamp to get them on the sway bar...but its been a long time. Anybody else?

Boil them in water first and they pop right in.

here is my stovetop recipe; other wise using a c-clamp is sometimes hard to manipulate in the confined area.

Replaced mine, used a bit of lube and big channel lock pliers and they popped right in, pretty sure I got them from Pelican.

I just replaced both of them on the passenger side. Should of bought four, the drivers side is starting to go bad to. I also boiled them to get them soft to put in. I bought mine from Sierra Madre, because I was already buying a bunch of other stuff from them. Good quality parts.

Thanks, everyone. I'll purchase bushings for both sides and do the install myself as suggested.

mine were done a couple years ago, - they fell out while at my mecanic's getting other work done so he did it for me. I believe he got them from his 911 parst supplier. not sure who that is- but i'm sure automotion, GPR, sierra Madre etc are all viable sources.
