914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Can't run TireCalc2 on 914 World

Posted by: tumamilhem Jun 6 2015, 05:10 AM

I keep getting this error message. Java is updated, I've selected 'Ignore' on the error message (and 'Reload') but I still keep getting the same error message. Anybody else have this problem? There's nothing in my security settings to block this application. And I've made 914world.com an exception in blocking websites, but it still blocks this (I guess because it's not blocking the website but the application). How can I get around it to use this?

I had this same problem and I'm dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to computers. Here's what I found. In security settings I had to add the https://www.914world........................ Right now yours only accepts the http://www.914world...........IIRC.

Yeah, I tried that in the settings too, making exceptions for the 914world.com website to allow. I think the error is it's blocking the application itself (TireCalc2), not the website. :/

My best bet is that the application is the problem, all the newest versions of Java do not like the security settings of the old version that the calculator was written in.

You'd have to be running an older version of Java to use it, then you have to hope that your browser likes the older version of Java

I could be way off base here, but that is what it appears to be.

I like this one above as well.

Thanks for the link for the Tacoma calculator, another neat one!

I think you're right. I never had a problem with it before until about a year ago and haven't been able to use it since. There's a couple other calculators, but I wanted to use this one since all the specifics were plugged in for the 914.
