Didn't realize what mattered to you, appearance or function. Maybe find an image of a factory 914 sales brochure or equivalent.

Under. There are holes in the top of the engine tin specifically for spark plug wire clips.

Make sure #3 is routed under the intake runner. #3 plug wire has been known to interfere with the MPS signals.
