This guys is flying
Very nice footwork too (hee/toe double clutch downshifts)
If a 914 could only shift like that
Nice whine from the gearbox too

Holy crap, that's pretty damned impressive!
I like the part where he downshifts (double clutched and heel-toe) from 6th all the way to 1st. Classic.

Ill shut up now..

Sweet. I have done a 2:29 there and I felt like I was flying.
Thanks for the video.
If you play it at half speed, it will be just like when I use to race there.

******* noob alert *******
what is double-clutching and heel-toeing?
~a
You wont learn double clutch or heel toe watching this vid
You have to watch it 3 times to fully appreciate. Once for the track view, once for the feet, and once for the hands.
Enjoyed watching that. Look at his head bobbing around in the rear view. I would have liked to seen a PIP with tach and speedo in top right corner of this clip. Probably stringing redline downshifts. No doubt his time would have been better without the traffic and being able to take the optimal line a couple of times. This guy is one with his machine.

don wanna learn it, just like to know what the heck it is. ~a |
as for somebody say if a 914 could shift like that, i dont think the shifting had anything to do with it a 914 does not even have a throttle response good enough if the car should shift that well.
and for the nood question, double clutching is letting the clutch out during shifts when the car is in nuetral to use the engine to match gear rpms, but to do this well you need to be able to heel toe it which is using your foot to hit the brakes and gas at the same time, in a very controlled manor to bring the rpms up the the point where the gears are moving at the same speed. this has very little wear on syncros and helps prevent spins when the rear wheels suddenly try to turn at a faster or slower speed as well as slowing the car with the brakes
I feather the throttle all the time.. and heel and toe durring downshifts..
Its common practice for me now..
Im starting to practice left foot breaking
Now, Double clutching is just doing two clutch actions, one to disengage the gear, and one to engage it... Am I correct or...
I never got the double clutch one.... (tried doing two actions once really fast, just felt slow.. and my left leg hurt from moving so fast... )
